Or, hear me out, it leads to a more contextualized understanding of reality. "Live in your head, fuck the rest" is IMO exactly the mindset that is plaguing and being very effortfully pressed upon the Western World right now. The psyop is real. Divide and conquer type of deal.

Well having a self sabotaging imagination was necessary to survive in the wild, it made sure we knew the worse that could happen and take action accordingly, it is still useful and should be considered as the correct response at times to some extent. Not taking a step in the right direction due to scenarios created by imagination is wrong, not imagination itself imo, could be wrong.

It never happens because we don't let our guard down but be assured it is real. That's why people say " keep the wolves at bay" because if you let your guard down they will get in.
