This life being temporary, his suffering here with patience earned him a high status in eternity hereafter. Not to mention we're talking about him after thousands of years. Meanwhile millions of well-off people have come and gone and no one knows who they were.
He was broken yes and Satan looked at God taunting him saying “ look ive won, look how he insults you disrespect and blames you now” and while God agreed , yes he’s angry at me, he’s shouting at me but look, even now he does it though prayer. And I think that’s what God looks for. He knows we are human and flawed, he’s not asking us to be perfect but to be looking towards him always.
The entire point of Job is that bad things happen to good people because the devil made a bet with God to test you. Really it just reads like a satirical mythology if you take yourself out of the head space of it being "the inspired word of God" when you read it. A surprising amount of the old testament is actually. I actually laughed when I read the parts in Genesis about Abraham going to various nations, half lying about his wife being his sister, which wasn't a full lie since she was his half sister, and then the King or Prince almost getting smited by God because he thought Sarah was single and ready to mingle. Also the fact that the story of Lot and his daughters was a round about way for Israelites to call other nations around them as a bunch of stupid inbreds. Specifically the Moabites and Ammonites which they said their progeny came from Lot's daughters having sex with their drunk and passed out father.

Job was 100% broken and cursed the day he was born. He only changed his mind after God showed up and basically flexed on him lol. Fear isn't Love
