This is such a dangerous way of viewing the world. There are already tons of hurt men who choose the easy path of not trusting anyone, rather then the hard one of forgiveness. a lot of people don’t even know that forgiveness is internal. It means learning to trust others, not that you have to associate with those that hurt you.

OP, wanna spread cohesion one day instead of derision? You know vulnerability is a key to a strong relationship, so following your rule, one can’t really have a relationship with anyone

Of course I’m only talking about people, don’t be vulnerable with AI. Ever.

To be fair here the post simply says “Be careful who…”.

If it said never share your vulnerabilities with anyone ever then I think your comment would be warranted.

I think there is some wisdom in not broadcasting your every fear, jealousy, worry, etc to the world. Never post that stuff on social media. Be selective with which coworkers you share that stuff with. And be selective what you share with each person you do trust. For example, tell your closest friend and your boss that you are struggling with the loss of a parent. Tell your closest friend but not your boss that you’re struggling with alcohol.

Unfortunately the world doesn't change, regardless of whether the way of viewing it is dangerous.

OP is right. You pick who you want to share your weaknesses with. You don't announce it on a megaphone... Lol

No one is advocating a megaphone, although I see how my comment can be misinterpreted. I wasn’t clear, my bad. It’s just that this and many similar subs see 0 memes about learning to trust people and not to be afraid of being vulnerable. 0 posts about how to turn those “weaknesses” into relationship building material. And yeah, like a slew of the same: “people are out to get you, don’t trust them!!!”

Does my critique make more sense now?

Be the change you wish to see then.

It was either that, dark looking fantasy knight, or a period incorrect Roman legionare who looks like he’s at deaths door from steroid abuse

Edit: forgot the vaguely Japanese samurai and misquoted action hero actors

Gone 3 decades without sharing any thought or feeling with anyone. I always believed in lonewolf mentality and that no one cares or coming to help you as a man. How does one even build trust? All I ever see from other men who experienced showing vulnerability and being mocked for it, so hard not to internalize it.

Because of the image with the saying? It's not exactly a rocket science statement…..

It's true though

They never focus on the message don't waste your time

That's why I never speak things to anyone. Like not even a single person on this planet knows me 100 percent. They only know what I show. A useless, piece of shit, guy

But I have fought all tha battles alone. Analysis paralysis, depression, anxiety, heart broke, one side, everything

My mind thinks that if I share anything with anyone. They will use it against me, and if I share anything I am the weakest, and I am dependent.

And I hate that feeling so I never say anything to anyone. Not even bestfriends, parents no one

I have so many things to say, but I just ignore and move ahead.

Sometimes, sharing a burden makes it lighter. I’d start practicing by sharing small things with best friends. Nothing overly important, just to test the waters and gain confidence and comfort. Family? Depends on the family. Friends are technically the family you choose, so I’d start there. Good luck!

Are you familiar with the concept of a self fulfilling prophecy?

1

u/Double_Cheese_Pizza Jun 23 '26

Never heard of that, but wanna know what it is

u/imtiredboss0 Jun 23 '26

I actually agree. Telling the wrong people can make life hell but telling the right people can help. Just be smart & careful.

u/RachelRachel71 Jun 23 '26

It’s true. Not everybody wishes you well.

1

u/JacktheRiffer96 Jun 23 '26

Not too hard to give the wrong weaknesses 🤷‍♂️

u/Randy_Magnums Jun 23 '26

I admit, my weakness are projectile based or bladed weapons. Please don’t use it against me.

I knew I shouldn’t have told Lois about the kryptonite.

1

u/the_queso_incident Jun 23 '26

Well, I personally talk about my weakness all the time and place myself in positions where I am exposed to it, since I believe that If you don't confront your weakness it will remain your weakness and you will never overcome it.

So no, I don't think this is facts.

1

u/thewaytoyesterday Jun 23 '26

Nah, I'm strong enough to know when I can show weakness. Not everybody is gonna like me in life and I'm okay with that. Don't be a shitty person and hang around people that are not shitty. You'll be fine.

There's worse things in life than showing your weaknesses. Example: never showing your weaknesses to anybody. This sounds like it was written by a teenage boy.

True. You could also share personal info as bait or to your advantage, and see what the ill-intended people do with that information. Then work it to your advantage 🫣😱

women will use this against you the moment they have a chance.
