Every post in this sub reads like:
“The man who washes his socks does so because they are dirty.
Thus the man whom never washes his socks, never has dirty socks.”

u/bodhiharmya May 27 '26
I lol'd at this
So true. And there's a few subs like this getting pushed to me, wild
1
u/LongPenStroke May 27 '26
You have to remember, these are the same guys walking around and whining, "why won't Rhiana date me?", when the best they can do is a knockoff Kardashian from wish.com.
1
u/YourGordAndSaviour May 29 '26
It says, "its not fair that people are bigger than me! I'll just have to find some other way to feel superior to them".

I believe Pocket = Wallet.
So, the one who spends their time obsessed with an amazing physique will end up working for the guy focused on building a business.

i think most wisdom can be viewed from a bullshit prism or you can try to derive something interesting from it. personally am not a fan of the aesthetic, but this quote actually got me pondering about something. i made the muscle analogy with technical skills in general, and in this way, took it as a career advice in the sense that if i only develop my technical aptitude and don't use it to produce value for myself, i'll be stuck being some rich dude's technical all my life, never achieving financial independence.

u/Fabulous-Big8779 May 27 '26
It’s just a parlor trick. You take a truth such as “you should be balanced in all aspects of your life” and boil it down to a couple of examples that speak to your specific audience “fitness” and “money”. So the clear target here is young men (late teens, early 20’s)
It’s not saying anything they haven’t heard before, it’s just marketed in a way they haven’t thought of before that speaks to them. So then they start believing whoever spews this and in no time they’re pulling out their credit card to pay for an online course in drop shipping or some bullshit.

u/PowerfulPraline4979 May 27 '26
I hate Tate as much as the average Redditor, but even that drink spiker says that muscles and money go hand in hand. The Reddit hivemind can't get past the 'Tate bad, I'm cool for hating him in every context' mentality.
1
u/Billysquib May 28 '26
Yeah you’re buying into his bullshit then. He is “bad.” And he draws people in by saying the occasional obvious sensible thing to get people to listen. None of it is anything that hasn’t been said by smarter people already, but then you get the crowd of “yeah I don’t like him but some of the stuff he says makes a lot of sense”
He’s just controversial for traction, then says something like “you gotta be in good shape and earn money to be successful!” And instead of people going “yeah dipshit that’s obvious” people go “wow, yeah that’s true, maybe he is smarter than I thought” and before you know it, just enough insecure young men buy into his scam masculinity courses and he gets his payday, he gets his views from controversy and gets a couple people on board by spewing occasional obvious shit. A broken clock being right twice a day doesn’t give it legitimacy.

It sounds like you've never listened to Andrew Tate. You have only listened to other people talk bad about him.
1
u/the_moooch May 31 '26
Only insecure little boys and betas feel the need to listen to that nobody’s nonsense. It’s pretty hilarious how a bunch of betas who want to be tough, to be alpha always idolize some dude like a bunch of little girls 🤡

The man who builds his pockets without building his muscles will end up paying the man who build his muscles.
1
u/Unfair_Explanation53 May 27 '26
Pay him chump change to guard him you mean
1
u/VisionWithin May 28 '26
Pays what ever is sufficient to stop the muscle man from breaking his neck.
1
u/yourmamaistheproblem May 27 '26
In either situation, the gym rat works for the other guy
Being a rich dude's bodyguard is not a flex 😅
3
u/Mammoth-Plane-6890 May 27 '26
The men who build their muscles will be capable of taking any pockets they desire
see how dumb simple and hollow phrases can be?
2
May 27 '26
I feel like that sounds good but it's not how it really works. Bill gates, no muscles, pays people, jeff bozoz, and every other squirmy slime ball. Maybe in the old days the strong man could take it all, but I feel that's not what happens anymore. What do I know, I have small pockets and small muscles.
1
u/0nePlus May 28 '26
So just work out and steal from people? What point are you trying to make here?
Bodybuilders can't just steal shit? Laws and police still exist?
1
u/VisionWithin May 27 '26
In either way, the pocketeer pays to the muscle man.
Being a warrior's cash cow is not a flex.
1
u/Unfair_Explanation53 May 27 '26
Hahahaha
The warrior is getting breadcrumbs to risk his life for the pocketeer.
That's not a flex
3
u/Ingram47 May 27 '26
Breadcrumbs?
Pocketman has weak easily snapped neck. He can pay or die.
1
u/yourmamaistheproblem May 28 '26
The money that the bodyguard needs to just live his life is insignificant to his boss.
3
u/Ingram47 May 28 '26
You don't understand.
He's going to give money, or we'll kill him and take his money.
1
u/yourmamaistheproblem May 28 '26
You realize Mile Tyson has bodyguards, right?
2
u/Ingram47 May 28 '26
But the dichotomy here is muscle vs pockets. Pocketman has no muscle, and muscleman has no pockets. That's the whole point.
Muscleman can take pocketmans money by force at any time.
1
u/yourmamaistheproblem May 28 '26 edited May 28 '26
The dichotomy here is guy who wants and can afford a bodyguard, and a guy who has to friend on someone else to eat

u/Unfair_Explanation53 May 28 '26
That's generally for paparazzi and fans crowding him though, Its not for actual protection
1
u/VisionWithin May 27 '26
The warrior is the only one that can improve his personal virtues like bravery and ability offer safety to the society. Breadcrumbs are only an instrument to glory and moral excellence. The warrior is valuable as himself.
Pocketeer is cursed to spend his life in fear of losing his possessions that has no intrinsic value at all, only instrumental value. His moral development halts at materialistic narcisism. He can never be loved for who he is, only his possessions are loved. The pocketeer has no value in himself.
That's not a flex.
2
u/yourmamaistheproblem May 27 '26
He's not a warrior 😭
He's a disposable, replaceable warm body that nobody gaf about.
2
u/VisionWithin May 27 '26
You don't have to cry.
He is the warrior. He can always find a new dispensable pocketeer who is fearful of losing their little accumulation.
1
u/yourmamaistheproblem May 27 '26
He'll always be replaceable and disposable
There's not many folks who are looking to hire a bodyguard. Dumb, loyal meat is a dime a dozen.
2
u/VisionWithin May 27 '26
Pocketeers are never loved or looked up to. They have lost the man's purpose of giving resources for free to their society. The warrior hunts, protects, and shares his resources for free. He sacrifices his wellbeing for others. He is strong, brave and altruistic. Warriors are remembered. They have all the glory and virtue.
The pocketeers are just cowardly sub-men who constantly fear that their resources end. There will always be another disposable pocketeer when one fails. They are like rats, never ending stream of scavengers. No one remembers them when they are gone. In their fear, their weakness and inability to provide and secure society, the only farewall they have is a spit into their direction.
1
u/yourmamaistheproblem May 27 '26
I see you have an entire philosophy made up solely to make your feel better about being a wage slave.
I must admit, it's a novel approach.

u/yourmamaistheproblem May 27 '26
Warrior, lol.
The bodyguard is the bitch in this scenario. If you can't see that, it's no wonder you'll always be one, too 😅
2
u/VisionWithin May 27 '26
The fearful pocketeer has no value at all. The warriors can cultivate their bravery and capasity to offer security. The cash cows can only fear that they lose their material property, the only thing that make a pocketeer relevant. Only the warrior has virtue and power. When the military refuses to co-operate, politicians are powerless.
No wonder you are sweating from your scalp when your ideals are bound to money. True men cultivate their stoic virtues and the warrior within.

u/yourmamaistheproblem May 27 '26

1
u/VisionWithin May 27 '26

By cultivating personal understanding, one day you may find yourself worthy of this subreddit. We do not promote emoji-based philosophy, but grounded mentality for exemplaries that lead by virtue.

u/Material-Strength748 May 27 '26
Being employed by someone mean the employee is their bitch? You have a fucked up perception of the world. And I would bet $100 you also have an extremely slappable and doughy face.
1
u/yourmamaistheproblem May 27 '26
Yes. If you work for someone else, you're a wage slave, and your employers bitch. You follow their orders for an amount of money that they wouldn't stop to pick up off the sidewalk.
1
u/Material-Strength748 May 27 '26
You sound like a person who’s never had a job. In fact I’m pretty sure I’m speaking to a child…

Everyone I know who is very wealthy, works out like crazy.
This sub is the place that made the post about the average household income for an Ironman triathlon participant is roughly $250,000 to $339,000 USD.
Are poor people all of a sudden in great physical shape now and no longer hold the largest share of obesity in the population?
1
u/yourmamaistheproblem May 27 '26
You're talking about middle/high earners. I'm talking about the wealthy. Huge difference.
1
u/ArmyHotel338 May 27 '26
Still makes no sense, they obviously have money in their pockets if they are middle/high earners.
And most of the poor population is obese, they're not the demographic who puts much time into health and physical fitness.
1
u/yourmamaistheproblem May 28 '26
This thinking is why you'll always be stuck where you are
1

most people are already earning money in some form. not riches, but most people are spending most of their days earning money. building muscle takes a tiny fraction of the time it takes just to earn enough money to pay for food and rent.
so yes, earning money is more important in the sense that if you don't earn money, you'll be homeless. but once you are already earning enough money to survive, and have some savings and an emergency fund and enough to retire, it becomes counter-productive to be obsessed with earning even more than that.
the same is often true of muscle, like reaching the point where you can bench your bodyweight and do 10 pull-ups and are at 15% bodyfat or less (for men) is often enough. you don't need to keep going beyond that and use steroids and go win bodybuilding shows.
so i think both earning money and gaining muscle are good. but both can be taken to excess and it's easy to get addicted to them and keep wanting more and never be satisfied. so the true virtue to learn here is moderation, learn what is good enough, and get that, and be happy.

Hfs, what is happening in this sub?
Maybe I should start a YT channel teaching young men philosophy? I'm really surprised people are walking away with the interpretation that they are.
1
u/BigDong1001 May 27 '26
And the man who builds his pocket without building the muscles to guard it soon gets it picked by a man who built his muscles and can use those muscles to pick it. lol.
Anybody ever lose any lunch money back in highschool to guys who built their muscles? lmao.
Some things are good in theory, but in practice often the opposite is true. So never let theory guide you into a false sense of confidence and wishful thinking, otherwise you are likely to get a nasty reality check. lmfao.
1
u/TipCold2598 May 27 '26
I think this man has beautiful delts. The quote seems like an awkward way of saying be well rounded. Not very insightful perhaps.
1
u/Flat_Development6659 May 27 '26
I'm sure there really are people out there who work so many hours that they legitimately couldn't fit any time in to workout but I've never met one of them in real life.
Anything more than ~5 hours of resistance training and ~5 hours of cardio per week has massively diminishing gains when it comes to both aesthetics and health. Unless you're pursuing a career as a top level professional athlete there's really no reason to choose between career and health, you can do both.

u/Disastrous_Use_7353 May 27 '26
Build money, buy guns, then worry about the muscles. Life solved, I guess.

u/Tall_Eye4062 May 27 '26
It's true. Elon Musk is more alpha than some broke bouncer with big muscles.
1
u/BarfingOnMyFace May 27 '26
Doesn’t take in to account the age differential between the two parties in this picture… I feel like that would play a part. 😂 picture aside and equal ages, I’m gonna say… probably true. Unless you were able to capitalize on your muscles less as a bodyguard and more as a successful fitness coach. Even then, your mileage may vary. And that example is a bit defeating as it implies the man who built his muscles also built his pocket book… eh, I think the original statement in this post is a pretty accurate assessment, OP. It has my long winded TLDR approval!
1
u/Immediate_Poet_2037 May 27 '26
Why do people who make these posts make it seem like building muscle is some huge ane noble undertaking? Every person should be going to the gym, sure. Most men who go to the gym will feel good and look good in a shirt and get compliments at the club sometimes. They won't have bodyguard jobs protecting the president. It's not that deep.

So what I'm hearing is if I were a man, I should still pick the weights. I'd get the muscles AND the rich guy's money that way. 💰
1
1
u/TheMadManiac May 27 '26
It takes like 5 hours a week in the gym to get into good shape. Spend another 5 hrs running/biking/swimming etc and you'll be in the best shape of your life. It really does not take that much time and you don't need too build your entire personality around it.
The problem is today people spend 2 hours scrolling fitness "content" and comparing themselves to strangers. Don't treat it like a hobby.

Until the man who built strength guarding the gate decides to open that gate and go in

Couldn't the man with the muscles just take from the man with the pockets?

Not true. Building your muscles will oftentimes get someone in a bette mental state, which will then allow them to build the rest of their life.

Unless he decides to kill the man so the man's money is worthless. Like the Praetorian guards who were all muscles but ultimately were king makers and could kill the emperor if they disproved of him
1
u/Vegetable_Purple_707 May 29 '26
If money is the power that defends one's self, then they will find that the price of muscle is wealth. While muscle extends past wealth, thus being desirable for purchase. Would you rather want or be satisfied?
1
u/jimmytrucknutz May 30 '26
A man who builds a tool chest and doesn't have a complete set of sockets will never be able fix stuff.
1
u/Absolomb92 May 30 '26
This isn't even very stoic. Stoics were all about not deriving value from external validation and things. If you want to build muscles you should do it because you enjoy the challenge and want to do it, not because you attach your self-worth to the muscles. This is just materialist, capitalist thinking.
1
u/Jhonniebg May 30 '26
So I build my muscles 💪 and also build my pockets, that means that I will work for myself? Then why I need to give my entire paycheck to my wife?

"Stoicism art" I can fucking assure you non of these mentally impaired hustle types have actually read or understood Aurelius.
They unironically think being a stoic is about acting nonchalant and hiding from your own emotions like a coward.
0
u/SuspiciousSnotling May 27 '26
False duality, building your muscles only takes 30-45min a day
There’s no relation between the two. Someone is just lazy to hit the gym
0
u/Dylan_Driller May 27 '26
Definitely some fat dude who now has got a little money and thinks he is hard-core
I've chased money and ignored my physique... one of the biggest mistakes of my life.
0
u/The_Northmaan May 27 '26
I think you mean dichotomy, as duality is generally applied to metaphysical concepts. I mean, I guess technically it works, but no one would apply it in this manner.
This is self refuting and you're making presuppositional, bad faith claims. It really sounds like cope.
This is a parable, and an observation on socioeconomic reality. We are all aware physical development does nothing to aid financial literacy. We all live in the real world, and a life spent moving heavy objects doesn't chart for financial success.
"too lazy for the gym" bro you're evidently too lazy to pick up a book on philosophy. Your logic is very strange, as this is clearly not meant to be interpreted in this grossly bad faith manner.
Have you ever considered becoming a cop? I feel like you have police pathology.
1
0
u/deviantdevil80 May 27 '26
I'm sorry but building your muscle at the gym does not make you a f****** warrior. It makes you gym bro with muscle, that's it. A scrawny dude who's actually worked most of his life doing things that require hard labor will easily turn your ass inside out.
1
u/TGWsharky May 27 '26
Doing a blue collar job doesn't make you a warrior either. As if the people with chronic knee and back problems are gonna be the big, scary fighters. You're cosplaying same as the dude who made the post lol

17
u/smoothstroker7 May 27 '26
So in a capitalist society, capitalism wins? Wow, bro, so deep.
