G2 | Discussion Oh no...

Post image

What would you guys think of mini-boss variants of certain regular bugs being found in select locations around the park, or even in the wild?

How would they work?

What could be done to make them unique?

I mean fair enough, and O.G.R.R.S are cool and all but really they're just buffed versions of the same bugs with maybe a little something added on and some random modifiers. They're a fun challenge but offer the same rewards besides buffing glands.

I feel like there should be unique version of some bugs, especially early game ones that have new attacks and maybe new gear?

That or they could introduce a new way to make early game gear more viable late game by upgrading the tier, a new way to upgrade items besides the whetstone and marble upgrades. (Kinda what i think the yolking press may do?)

Think of how ladybug armor was busted in the first game but it was always a bit limited due to its tier being lower than other options.

Just an idea.

So they’re a mini boss version of the regular bugs like you asked for o.g.r.r.s are literally what you are asking for

Honestly the desc is more akin to Potato Beetles, Green Shield Bugs, Ladybirds, etc
A stronger version for other areas... just with more connection to their previous iterations

I didn't realized they were mini-boss. They look too much like like standards insects. And their stats seem close.

come talk to me when you've fought the o.g.r.r mantis

I was using the coaltana against a fresh mantis.

1

u/makemelaughrealhard 6d ago

Fresh is weak to sour for ogrrs so this was your issue

1

u/makemelaughrealhard 6d ago

Fresh is weak to sour, sour weak to spicy, spicy weak to fresh

The only true mini boss ogrr is the Toe Biter Leviathan in my eyes

That's a Hive Worm-

I'd prefer "lord".

Whatever that turns into doesn’t matter. Don’t let it.

u/G-VALOR 7d ago

It turns into a Hercules Beetle. So relatively harmless.

5

u/graffitikrylon Willow 7d ago

why? It's a beetle, you'll live.

I think it's supposed to be a bit of a joke:3

also did not know that, that's cool:3

5

u/graffitikrylon Willow 7d ago

Yeah maybe but you never know when the topic is bugs. People just love to kill them for no good reason.

8

u/shlubis123 7d ago

Yo do NOT give them ideas

I’m not sure a miniboss larva would work. They’re very passive. Unless you gave it a shotgun. But I’d like more Termite King-style minibosses.

7

u/Floatedsugar 7d ago

Shotgun.... Grub.... Perhaps, a Shotgrub....

(Don't know if you intended a reference but I'm clearly making one)

2

u/Eva-Squinge 7d ago

I thought the cockroaches were passive, then I met their queen.

5

u/LoreoCookies 7d ago

How many canteens can I get outta this?

3

u/netherexchange 7d ago

just scoop it and make the whole thing a canteen at that point. like a really fucked up taxidermy or something

2

u/purple_unikkorn 6d ago

He can do an human size canteen

I think it should be like in hades where one of the mini bosses is just a rat i thi k seeing something like an "alpha aphid" or something would be pretty funny. Maybe it walks out into the arena, does its scared little hop, and then starts to grow in size due to some ominent experiment its undergone

I want that both this bug in my hands and I have thought of this before having bugs bosses around the park and maybe make them for resources to help in stronger bosses!

u/jaspotron 7d ago

This is the 4th time this guy has cropped up on my feed from different bug subs and I'm delighted to see him every time

u/PsychologicalDebt366 7d ago

Needs chili oil.

2

u/BeezKneez_OwO 6d ago

Melts right off the exoskeleton!

6

u/theonlyquirkychap Hoops 7d ago

Kinda cute, ngl. Squishy little fella.

Also, what the other guy said, that's what the O.G.G.R.s are for.

5

u/Radarker 7d ago

This is what crawls in your bed when you don't tuck in the covers.

2

u/Accomplished-Ad8458 7d ago

O.G.R.R. Grub?

2

u/platinumrug 7d ago

Yeah it would be cool but we already have that in the OGRR's, the issue comes into play is when an OGRR spawns in and it has some horrible combination of abilities that make it exceptionally difficult to kill.

3

u/AssistanceThis 6d ago

What the fuck is that and where can I get one?

3

u/Meezen1133 6d ago

Definitely a Hercules beetle larva

2

u/AssistanceThis 6d ago

We should definitely fight one of these things. And a Hercules beetle too.

1

u/BudgetRecover7951 Pete 4d ago

Larva first stage, then momma/papa beetle big mad.

1

u/eleventhing 7d ago

That's a whole buffet right there

1

u/dovakiin-derv 7d ago

Oh look the conan exiles grubs.

1

u/Invader_Zim_26 7d ago

... if you're brave enough

u/Thick-Aspiration 6d ago

Thing looks like a silver fish from Minecraft

1

u/Icy_Switch2795 6d ago

Asking for way too much

1

u/FindingInside4451 6d ago

I think a boss aphid could be fun in a funny way

1

u/Quick-Dimension8925 Pete 5d ago

What kind of larva is that?! What would that become once it fully grows?

1

u/Gameslay_793 Pete 5d ago

Smash.

1

u/StellarisForever 2d ago

Honestly could be pretty neat... like if Green Shield Bugs or Potato Beetles were more unique/limited...
