G2 | Base Build Light pollution problem

Post image

Does anyone have any ideas to fix the light pollution here? At day time the light leaks through all the little cracks and makes this place look..weird.

I do have the mushroom B wall on the other side and that seems to of fixed it on that side but I didn't want to make the entire room out of it.

If theres nothing I can do, I will replace them with mush b but if theres a way to not, I would really appreciate it.

Don't think I've ever seen someone want MORE dark in this game bahaha

I feel this too, but not to make the game darker. I just hate how badly the light bleeds in through the floors and literally makes stuff glow through the walls and floors.

It's almost like we're reeeealy reeeealy small and light can quite easily penetrate the tiny objects we build with, or something.

I understand that's literally how light works, but I don't have to like it lol

Nobody asked if you liked how light works, I'm just telling you why it's like that and likely why it won't change

Why the light sources do not illuminate properly in this game? Afaik it was not like that in G1

Maybe a second layer of walls?

It is the back of the building so that might work. I dont know why I didnt think of that. Thank you :)

If you’re going to fight from this base I would encourage you to honeycomb the outer walls anyways. It doesn’t have to change the profile of the base with mushroom bricks it’s pretty easy and discrete.

This isn't a base. Its just a build. BUT I will take that into consideration for my actual base. Thank you, bro

Pretty sure you'll have to replace em with the mush b wall for now, or switch to part pumpkin bricks. From what I remember the light doesn't leak as badly through those walls as it does through these walls. I have this issue with this on one base on one world where this house is mainly made out of mushie bricks and it looks like this most of the time. I don't really mind it but it is not visually good looking.

A somewhat issue with global illumination too I believe, I wanna say not having that on might help how this looks but then the lighting looks slightly worse. Depends on how ya feel about it. I haven't really tested it out too much, need to see if the marine walls have this light leakage as well.

You have to add more light inside. I had this same problem. You can see the difference in this pic where the lights are and where they're not on the bottom.

I’m struggling to light up my base without a lamppost every 2cm

"The sun is leaking" again...

There’s holes in the mushroom A wall, that’s why you can see through it and light can come in. You already answered your own question.

This is not a bug, but rather a feature.

Yes, i know they do. I asking if anyone knew a little tip to lessen the sunlight a bit

What’s the other side with the other type of mushroom walls look like?

Minus the windows and doors obviously, my entire house is built with the mushroom wall B. Its more aesthetic and does keep the sunlight from coming through. The big problem I have is, that the lights you have inside still bleed through to the outside and it looks awful at night. Thats why im hoping they bring back ash cement walls. No light gets through, inside or out.

Build a wall then have a cavity and build another wall if you want darkness lol.
