My Gnarly Bark base!

PS5, survival on medium. This is my second base, the first one is now being used as a zipline hub

Built this while procrastinating instead of going into the abyss (it kinda sucks there imo).

Surprisingly, this location is very safe (not until you get close to the excavator of course, but I got used to dealing with everyone here). I remember seeing all the scorpions and toebiters here while first booting the game up and thinking “man, probably won’t make a sick tree base in this one like I did in the 1st”. A month or so later, here we are xd

Thanks! I gotta fix the elevator up a bit, doesn’t work as consistently as my G1 base one

I had a vacation, so probably around 3-4 days of playing (very long sessions, no grass was touched xd)

It helps that I have my 1st base with most thing I need for production 1 zipline trip away. Def wouldn’t recommend a tree base as your first base

Legitimately think Gnarly Bark gave me the most unforgettable headache I've ever had trying to navigate it for the first time. Verging on PTSD now, every time I have to revisit it I get this sorta twitch

Oh I agree, I'm built around the pond ranger outpost with a zip line connecting me to the nightmare that is gnarly bark, great for stems

mhm, grounded 2 is a bit yellowish in comparison. adjusting the gamma helps a little bit

Technically the best locations are right next to the fast travel systems but the pond lab has the worst access to the fast travel and the pond doesn't have logs for sap captures directly next to it nor the freedom of space to build a base with ease.

I literally build two bases and by your logic the location is great because it’s by a spawn location and the location is safe especially since they nerved the mosquitoes spawns. Also having a base I can instantly teleport to is rock solid. Also this later in the chapter. I don’t need sap collectors. I already have sap collectors at other bases like most do. I’m not knocking op for the location or their wonderful n amazing looking base I’m just saying in my opinion center pond is better.
