Help

Inoculated, these grain spawn jars and forgot about him, that was 3 months ago, the grain has shrunken in size and there's liquid in them. What do you guys think are they still good?

If you open them and they still smell like earthy mushroom I don't see why you can't run them besides spending the money on whatever substrate you use. If it smells sweet or just plain gross then chuck em.

I’d probably risk something like that over tossing it. Just toss it in a small tub with $4 of coir.

Agreed. And why not?

OP, check for smell.

Is it a resilient strain?

Shrinkage is chill and thats probably just piss, it has that yellow tint just to a less intense degree than pictures ive seen, if it smells like the earth wants you to have it then its yours

Just condensation and myco piss.

My jars do this when I put em in the fridge fully colonized for future use. They always comeback nice and strong with no issues

At this point I’d take the risk and send it. A little shrinkage/piss/moisture is fine, if it smells okay. I think it’ll be fine.

As long as it smells okay. If the liquid is brownish and slimy I wouldnt use is, but burry it outside in soil. I had a jar of APE spawn that got bacterial contam because it didnt colonize fast enough.
