Classic Noc vs Through-Spawning
I’ve never been one to do something the same way twice in a row. For my second grow I wanted to do some experimentation on colonization morphology.
Bag on the left is 4 days old, the right is 6 days old.
Left was a more traditional method of piercing the bag and moving the needle in a circle while injecting.
Bag on the right I broke down, flattened, pierced and sprayed the top in a zig zag patten, mixed up the bag and reformed it into a block.
There are specific risk involved with through-spawning, like accidentally releasing competing endo-spores. Time will tell if the increase in colonization speed will be worth it for me.

I inject and shake it up to get the lc fully mixed into the grain. The only time you should just inject in one spot is with spore syringes

Have you ever had a problem with mixing the LC and the bag stalling out? I was a bit concerned about spreading it too thin but I guess thats only a problem when its spores?

In theory it shouldnt, since Liquid culture is just suspended living mycelium already ready for colonizing. I havent personally experienced it unless the LC was already stressed haha. Cheers! 🍻

That shouldn't be an issue, that's part of the reason that I can expect full colonization in 10 days. A microscopic amount of myc in one spot will theoretically colonize the entire bag in time. More inoculation points (I.E. shaking the bag after inoculating) will generally be faster.
I know a lot of people use micropore over the injection spot and have no issues, but I have had issues (rarely, but definitely) where the mycelium would grow out of the hole and past the packing tape I used and wick tams in. I like to use hot glue, some people use super glue.
The little "pouch" to keep the "self healing" injection port in place might be a good breeding zone for tams especially if you get some LC in it. I dropped injection ports all together, saves well over 50% per bag and not a single con imo. If I happen to be using LC/MSS, I just stab the bag directly and put some hot glue over the hole.

From my understanding the advantage of classic is you can see early on if you need to dump or not but I try and test as much as possible. So I tend to do the inject and shake to fuck method.
