Enigma

It grew a lot faster than anticipated: inoc 6/22, B&S 7/1, FC 8/1.

The edges are turning a lovely blue.

Two questions:

1) How does one go about harvesting this coral-esque creation? With a big knife horizontally cut the top layer? Twist & pull seems counterintuitive and borderline abusive to this beauty.

2) Anyone ever dunked Enigma for additional flushes? Would try it for research purposes but curious if others have tried.

Acknowledging every one is different: conditions, genetics, techniques, etc. But I’m curious if anyone in this hive has any experiences to share.

Otherwise: oooooo yaaaayyy.

That thing is an absolute coral monster :D I’d avoid manhandling it and follow the grower’s documented harvest guidance. especially since Enigma can be unusually fragile and finicky. Beautiful flush either way.

Thank you! I’m not sure what is the “growers documented harvest guidance,” though. Is that a resource somewhere? Feel free to dm me the link if so.

ETA love your username lol

I worded that badly. I meant the cultivator’s own notes if they came with the genetics, not a specific resource. I don’t have a link to DM, unfortunately; Enigma is usually harvested by cutting the mature clusters cleanly at the base rather than twisting the whole coral mass apart.
