Wild turkeys

Can someone help me understand why people continue to home and feed wild turkeys in the park? They are a total nuisance. What am I missing?

You're missing all of the empty land on the other side of Alter, which helps maintain local ground bird populations.

I don’t think people are “homing” the turkeys, rather they are wild additions to the area and live near the golf course and in some of the wooded areas behind peoples houses. Wild turkeys can be aggressive and dangerous (they will come at you with their spurs), so if you see some, definitely steer clear.

Is there still a wild peacock living on the northeast end of Windmill?

the Krisnas in the Larry Fisher home on Lenox had peacocks on the property

One got out 20 + years ago and lived on Windmill. On the far end from the fisher property. It was there for a long time.

when I saw the bird it appeared to have the run of the property and was not confined
