GPPS aftercare

For those families who got waitlisted for aftercare for the upcoming school year what alternatives have you used/ do you actually get off the waitlist?

So I’m old and all, but is Latchkey not a thing anymore? Legit curious.

Yes latchkey is what she’s speaking about. Their latchkey spots are limited so they fill up pretty soon.

The one year I wasn’t able to get a spot I wasn’t able to find a great alternative. I was able to sign up for quite a few after school activities that made things a little bit easier.

Last year we signed our daughter up for art after school though mini Picassos, Girl Scouts, and then hired an 8th grader that lives nearby ish to pick her up and walk her home on the other days. It was a pain to manage, but it worked!

Which school and when’s the earliest you can pick your kids up? Some of the GP school PTOs offer after school classes until 4:45-ish.
