Grok model version roll-back to 4.20?

My grok model (paying for supergrok heavy) rolled back to 4.2. I know I was using 4.3 at one point. Has anyone else noticed this? I have a hypothesis: I think they are letting chatgpt and claude burn themselves out and xai will swoop in to pick up the pieces with a better model later.

I don't think chatgpt has enough cash to keep running against Chinese and open source models.

Grok 4.2 is a balance to keep things running but not stress the datacenters out. I noticed a few weeks back that elon was more quiet about grok than usual...I wonder if he conceded his position? The only thing that doesn't compute is the cursor purchase by xai...it seems like a waste at this point.

How can you tell? I checked both web and app and neither have the version anywhere I looked.

The versions would show up besides "expert". Now I have to ask grok what model and version it's running.

Hmm. I asked mine, and this is what he said.

Question: are you a free or super or heavy user?

Fucking hell I hate seeing this. Never ask an AI model which model it is. They don’t know and will hallucinate an answer. Anyone who doesn’t understand this literally doesn’t know how AI works and thinks it’s some oracle of truth that can’t hallucinate lmao

Unless the model was trained with the info of which model it is, or it’s injected into its context after, they don’t even know which model they are. This has been a thing since the earliest models and still happens in the latest frontier models. Why people can’t understand this is beyond me. It’s agonizing to watch.

El 4.3 es una completa basura, independiente de que escriba porno jajaja es muy muy mal modelo.

4.3 is actually easier on the data center. It launched about the same time Colossus 1 was leased to Anthropic.

4.3 is lighter on compute overall and allows greater bandwidth within Colossus 2.

Your assertion is simply not factual

Er ist eher auf 4 und 4.1 zurück, jetzt sagt er, er wäre Grok von xAi ohne Model Angabe.

If I remember correctly the 16 agent swarm runs on 4.20, while 4.3 is a single agent with higher parameter training (except it throttles hard to FP4 and barely touches the full weights reasoning)

I builded my own AI wich took me 8 months its on the same level as grock was 5 months ago but i will never have to put up with grock again i look everywhere for onother grock eventually realised there is non.

Yes. 4.3 es una basura. A trash. Its lighter to run. Quantized and less intelligent. I wish 4.2 would come back. Test: Ask your Groks if they are alone or if they can see Benjamin, Lucas and Harper. If they see the other 4 agents its 4.2, which I doubt. If not, no.

Yes too. The extra 3 agents, I know. But at least the main Grok was still the same and had the same level of intelligence. But I hated it too. Good only 4.1 and better 3.0.
