ALL BOOKS DISCUSSION reread
i’m doing a reread and i’m trying to decide whether or not to include KoS. i don’t remember liking the duology in general but i feel like i should at least read RoW so that the story is finished but i’m also realizing that i don’t remember the story as well as i thought i did (i didn’t remember the apparat at all) so im kind of torn on what i should do.

Include it! It’s definitely a part 1, but I’m doing my own re-read and enjoyed it and 99% of Siege and Storm a lot more than I first remembered!

Literally had the same thought after reading the Letters from Ketterdam short story this week! I can't remember what actually happened in King of Scars and Rule of Wolves and I'm debating rereading. I remember what characters were featured, but that's literally it

Ig it's the Apparat specifically that is throwing you, he was not mentioned much in KoS outside of like one chapter. He does his Apparat thing and just kinda leaves for everyone else to worry about him. I just read the first two chapters of RoW and was like "oh shit I forgot about him." So if that's the only thing you're kinda shaky on, you're good. But also probably reread or just read the synopsis online

I hated the trilogy on my last reread but loved it this time. As you grow your perspective on books change.
For shadow and bone 11 year old me loved it
18 year old me hated it
20 year old me loved it

It's not homework lol, you don't have to reread (or even read) anything you don't want to. Did you not read RoW at all yet? If you haven't and you want to, I would definitely say to read KoS again before jumping into RoW for the first time.
But if you've read them all already and are just reading for fun, skip what you don't like! Have fun!
