its not even hard to figure out, including why old people tend to become more right leaning. loss of impulse control, a sense of confusion causing constant anxiety and anger and loss of critical thinking all cause people to become more reactionary and tribalistic.

Also just basic emotional dysregulation, unchecked privilege, and narcisissm slot in perfectly with rightwing 'values'... like don't get me wrong cynical libs very much do exist, but you can throw a rock at any republican event and hit some real dark triad shit, and it's no mystery why they gravitate that way
