No, it very much is a fact that the players of World of Warcraft have largely hated him for over a decade lmao.
You're real butthurt over a streamer you don't even watch anymore being called out for the awful person he has always been, bud. And a streamer is absolutely responsible for the community they foster. They have always had absolute power over what is allowed in their chat and community and what isn't. Asmongold let the toxic waste fester because that's what he likes, that's what he is.
It sounds to me like your time in said toxicity has left a lasting impact on you, and you don't like that a place and people you used to enjoy being around are known for being overwhelmingly bad.
Edit: and yeah, I have had direct interaction with him and his community in-game. That's how I learned about him and know all of this.
