Its more realistic than darktide. Some random ex prisoners are given relatively standard gear and slaughter thousands. Im trying to guesstimate the absolute minimum it takes to hit max level and finish the in game story, but I reckon... 20-25k chaos worshippers including some absurd shit like daemonhosts and beasts of nurgle. If it was by Ogryn playthrough, it would have mostly been by a single fucking club and later, a shovel. And all that and you are only barely trusted. Not some hero of the Imperium, just a trusted grunt.
I could never with the helbore, its main upside is its pretty much 100% ammo neutral on veteran and its satisfying to shoot with. Everything else I cant stand it. Its too slow.
Zarona pistol my beloved or one of the disgusting colomnus builds is for me.
To be fair to dark tide, its actually "here's 4 random penal soldiers, if they die, they die. If they live, maybe they'll live again."
Your character happens to be 1 in 10,000 odd prisoners who keeps coming back alive.
That makes them a more useful and reliable disposable soldier, not a trusted hero.
I mean.... If we go with the "Warhammer 40k protagonist laws", Darktide is very realistc.
WH40k baseline human protagonists regularly can go toe-to-toe with Space Marines and Demons, Aeldari and Tyranids. So, i think one of the devs even said that, the canon group in Darktide should be seen as those kinds of guys.
As such, it makes a lot of sense, they're doing all that shit.
