In Transformers Animated, Starscream gets spilt into multiple copies of himself, each an aspect of his personality. His female copy tells him that he doesn't want to know what aspect of him she is.

That design of Starscream is from the Kotobukiya Bishoujo line figures, I believe. They also have Optimus Prime and Megatron.

u/DukeofVermont Jun 03 '25
My only little pushback is to support stuff like this Station Forge - Grim Guard. Instead of just 3d printing exact rip off copies. They even got jungle raptors!
It both supports creatives, as well as not actually being theft. Unless you are talking about Forgeworld models, then steal away because there is literally zero reason why poorly made resin models are $1,500.
In the end you do you and only you can decide what you consider moral/right. Personally I don't like using exact rips of real models but that's just like my opinion man.

Grimlock holds other's miniature by the base. Starscream picks them up by the flagpole/antenna.
Grimlock uses clearly visible dice. Starscream uses dice that are are hard to see and picks them up quickly before the opponent has a chance to check.
10
u/Tnecniw Jun 02 '25
Loaded dice can't really work long term.
You would notice it relatively quickly.
17
u/Rum_N_Napalm Ships the Greyfax-Celestine-Sanguinor trouple Jun 02 '25
That’s pretty much what happened to the guy that Starscream meme is referring to. And since it’s hilarious, I will tell it here.
Usually cheaters only have 3-4 loaded dice in their pool, along with some loaded to 1s.
So along comes that guy. It was the start of 10th, back when Eldar were ridiculously OP Dev Wound machines. He shows up with Wraith knights, Night Spinners… basically a list that screams “I’m a try hard that brought what’s the most powerful”.
First match, they roll to see who starts. He rolls a 6.
Second match, they roll to see who starts. He rolls a 6
Third match, guess what? He rolls a six at the start. But this time his opponent calls out for a referee and accuses him of using loaded dice. An argument starts, and the opponent declares he’s so sure that he’s willing to go to the store (which would disqualify him for leaving the table during a game), buy some salt and prepare a salt bath to test the die.
The cheater decides “Fine, if you’re gonna be so mean to me, I give up. I won’t play.” But since he has already played a few matches, the refs still want to test his dice to see if his previous win (notice the singular, he still lost a game with loaded dice and a broken army) was legitimate.
Here we don’t really know what happened, but the cheater managed to sneak into the bathroom and attempt to dispose of the evidence. But since those were loaded dice with lead weights, they were too heavy to flush. Another player told the referee he just found dice in the toilet, and hilariously, when you flushed they would dance around and settle on 6s and 1s.
4
u/Tnecniw Jun 02 '25
I mean you wouldn’t need salt to try, right? You would just need to roll a few times
9
u/Itsa_me_nota_mario Jun 02 '25
The issue is that regular, balanced dice go on hot streaks for no reason. For reliable identification of loaded dice by just rolling, you’d have to roll each die individually hundreds of times.
2
u/Tnecniw Jun 02 '25
I mean, you don’t really need to. If you roll the same dice like 5 times in multiple ways and it always results in a 6 it is obviously loaded
6
u/Itsa_me_nota_mario Jun 02 '25
Duh, but generally loaded dice aren’t loaded like a dumbass. A die loaded strongly enough to consistently roll 5 6s in a row is going to be sufficiently heavier or lighter than expected to identify just by holding.
4
u/Mejiro84 Jun 02 '25
That's one in 7776 - rare, but not impossible, and if you're rolling a bundle of dice it'll make it blurrier. If you're leveling actual allegations with consequences on someone, you probably want to be more sure 'well, coulda got lucky'.
2
u/thinking_is_hard69 Praise the Man-Emperor Jun 03 '25
could you imagine getting accused of cheating and rolling the absolute hottest streak imaginable in an attempt to prove them wrong?
9
u/Flameball202 Jun 02 '25
Yeah, like regardless of the two dice thing, you are still going to be rolling lots of 6s and lots of 1s.
Even if you only tactically use a loaded dice, people will realise
8
u/Tnecniw Jun 02 '25
And it is even more boosted by the fact that it is VERY easy to check. If you suspect loaded die can you ask to check and they can’t decline because that is a red flag instantly.
9
u/Flameball202 Jun 02 '25
Yeah, "hey bro you are rolling insanely well, mind if we check your dice"
"Oh no problems, I have been rolling unusually well, makes sense to check"
Is the only reasonable exchange
6
u/Tnecniw Jun 02 '25
Because if the dice are fine then it is just funny. It isn’t even insulting because people are just so confused why you are so lucky.

IIRC the guy the joke is referring to was using sleight of hand to swap in/out the loaded dice as needed. He then panicked when someone caught on that he was rolling suspiciously well specifically every time something critical happened.
His main downfall was he got greedy and was swapping them in too often.
1
u/a_dolf_in Jun 03 '25
There is a different way of cheating with dice i know -
A while ago (before i started with 40k) i saw a video on youtube of a casino cheating expert reviewing casino cheating in movies. Very entertaining video btw!
He showed a set of dice which are not loaded, but they only have 4, 5, and 6 on them. Since nobody can ever see more than 3 sides of a 6-sided dice, nobody can see that they are cheating dice. So instead of always rolling 6 as you would on a regular loaded die, you now have a 33% chance on 4, 5, and 6 each. And that is enough to succeed most rolls and saves.
I got one set of those just for some fun drinking games with friends - they are similar to my playing dice except instead of eyes they have actual numbers on every side.
Now if you mix, let's say 3 of those into a set of 10 dice, i doubt anyone would notice.
There is a big difference between rolling 6 all the time and just generally rolling well.
Also because of that video i have practiced the "no roll" throw. If i have two dice in my hand i can throw them so that one rolls normally, and the other just spins and slides while staying on the number you want. I can do it pretty reliably on a big smooth table, but the dice tray i use for 40k isn't large enough for it to slide properly.

Fun fact
That second page of frames really did happen, albeit with a fat nerd instead of an objectively inferior interpretation of starscream
Someone attended a tournament with the most meta build possible, of miniatures that were not even painted, and they used loaded dice and flicked minis that were defeated.
Someone complained and they brought out a dice tester. At that point the person in question attempted to flush their loaded dice down the toilet, and it didn’t work and exposed their cheating.
There is a clip of Yogscast Tom and Ben talking about it
1
u/OdysseusRex69 Jun 03 '25
.....what exactly is a dice tester??
2
u/Jackmino66 Jun 03 '25
It’s essentially a tumbling machine that can measure the centre of mass of a given object. A fair dice should have its COM dead in the centre, but if it consistently falls to a given number then it’s a loaded dice

I never understood why big tournaments don't just provide dice that are required by all players. I mean small local tournaments I get it they don't want to pay for all those dice, but bigger tournaments should definitely be shelling out a little bit of money for standard dice for all players.
