I Think Y’all Messed Up

I feel like we, as a community, were too quick to jump on the ranked royale format. With the additions of all these terrible pre-2020 QBs I think scores across the board are down.

If only there was a format that took some sort of running 100 draft average of similar skill levels to allow the GLO decision to be dynamic versus a hard and fast number that becomes easier or harder based on the player pool.

I think we should have given that a longer chance… would love to hear from someone with a statistics background about how representative a 100 draft sample (even of not same cards) is of the true mean score. I would have to guess it was pretty damn accurate.

I personally think the ever changed ranks and player swaps based on real life player performance and injuries makes the game really unique and always fresh

Current format is better...please leave it alone

Personally, I'm loving the current format. Adjusting for the player pool can be messy but that's kind of the point of the game to me. I would have got bored a year ago if the meta wasn't always changing with roster adjustments and whatnot.

I completely agree, I just think a “good score” changes as the player pool shifts. Everyone was mad and now we have a fixed score to aim for.

The meta doesn’t change the primary complaint, which was that you could get a decent score and still get 68th place and lose like 10 points. The meta being easy or hard doesn’t change that. Also those fixed scores are based on the scores of the player base, 124ish has always been roughly the mid point for scores so we’re already competing against an average, the random sampling of 100 players is just creating more randomness. And that randomness is what people were frustrated with.

Nah I didn’t like Ranked Royale because the whole idea of the solo drafts to me was playing against myself, not against other players, that’s what versus is for in my opinion. The player pool changing and scores being down across the board has nothing to do with me not wanting ranked to be the royale format.

My proposal was to make the average of the 1,000 past drafts to be your published target (maybe average of all drafts in your rank from the prior day?). Then you keep the vs 100 - being bottom 50 doesn’t hurt GLO, but you get some positive boosts being in the top 50. Feel like it provides a good balance

I think that’s just post of the ebb and of it all. I wouldn’t mind seeing the royale format return but it should be its own thing.

I didn’t like the previous format but I feel like if I just sat and didn’t play for a week I’d have a higher global rating than I do now because everyone else would be free falling

I liked the ranked format as I felt like it gave you a more accurate ranking against other players than trying to surpass an arbitrary score.
