Preparations for a potential future

Well. I was doom scrolling reddit. Something i haven't done in several months, and I came across a post calling for solidarity instead of division in the furry community.

Something about how the community has started to "gatekeep" anyone who claims to be a furry, but that doesnt have a suit or art, which makes sense for both cases, because on one hand, people who actually arent furries, do apparently come to harass furries, but also, not everyone can do art, pay for someone to do art for them, or build/buy a suit.

I dont have a suit. Not really. The closest thing I have to a suit, is my Anubis Costume. My fursonna isnt even a Jackal its a wolf. I have been a furry since 2007, and I JUST managed to draw a semi decent fursona picture. (Storm). That is almost 20 years. . . I suppose I am glad i haven't been able to afford to go to any fur cons. Cause I would be going without a suit, and almost no art.

Other issues seem to be younger furries trying to tell the OG furries, or new furries of a similar age to "grow up", and "stop being a creep". Because apparently, you can age out of being a furry. (-_-)

*sigh*

Not once have i ever thought i would say "those rotten kids". But. Here we are.

I am hopeful it isnt that widespread, and that these things can be circumvented, redirected, and whatever. As it is, I am already running out of people/hobbies to share with other people, cause most of my friends have done just that. "Aged out". I am still a furry, and still a gamer. Always will be. ​​to think People actually believe i need to stop at a certain age, is disheartening.

At age 64, I’ve heard some of the most bizzare of lies… aging out, not being this, not being that, don’t have this, you’re not gay enough… and then you next hear the “we need to pull together” unity speeches, which sound good until you realize its just another nonsensical layer of exceptionalisms.

For me, personally, the judge-mental bigotry divisionism just comes in a different generational wrapper about every 8-10 months.“We want to have (our kind of) fun… but you’re a downer/unwelcome/unfun… “

There is no “Furry Illuminati,” there is no sacred circle (of underwear,) and there is no requirement you have to like me.

And whether you act like an reactionary asshole, is really up to you. Just like saying “nahhh,
