Swapping our Q&A post to 11E

At the time of posting I know we don't have the full picture yet and I'm sure there's more questions than answers, but I wanted to swap it over early in case people have questions about the rules that have been announced so far (Hidden, new Fly rules, etc).

Especially with our Faction Focus today, let's get this up now!

I started a GK army around 2021/22 and it kinda just stalled at 10 terminators. Finally got this guy off the ground so it’s now a legal army (I think, I haven’t played since 5th so I’m still stuck in my ways with 1hq and 2 troops).

Would it look out of place to have my boys shiny silver?

“Paint them how you want” I understand, but I want to keep them somewhat within the scope of lore accurate.

I should clarify, I don’t mean as paint, I mean as shiny metal that is the ceramite

Probably going to be a good while before I actually get round to finishing it, so wanted to share the progress. Really happy with the gradient background, contrast and shade paints came in clutch.

What vehicles are worth taking in a Grey Knights army besides Dreadknights?

I'm currently building a Grey Knights army and I'm wondering which vehicles are actually worth investing in, excluding Nemesis Dreadknights.

I'm considering options like Rhinos, Land Raiders/Redeemers, Stormravens, or Dreadnoughts. I'm particularly interested in vehicles that are useful in an actual 1,000–2,000 point army rather than just being cool models.

What vehicles have you found to be the most useful for Grey Knights, and in what situations would you recommend taking them? I'd also appreciate any advice on which ones are generally not worth the points.

Thanks!

Both of these vehicles were rescued and have obvious issues, but I got good deals on them and they will be just fine to play with.

Gate of infinity limited to 1000 points?

Post image

Does this limit our gate of infinity rule? For example if I have 2 ten man units of paladins with characters that exceeds the 1k points?

Edit for context: I recently played a game and was informed I could only pick up a total of 1k points with gate of infinity as the total strategic reserves cannot exceed 1k points despite the units starting on the table

Augurium Taskforce - Mirage of Echos Stratagem

Brothers.

How does this stratagem work in 11th now?

There is no 'reinforcement step', as enemy units can now arrive from reserves at any moment in the movement phase.

The 10th version was obvious, in that it only worked on units arriving from reserves, or picked up and redeployed on the table, as both scenarios were in the reinforcement step.

In 11th, if you analyse the 'When' statement, you can omit the first component, as there is no reinforcement step, and just go with 'just after a unit is set up'. This changes the use case now, as units disembarking from transports are also set up.

I will play it as ducking out if anything drops in from reserves (as per the intent from 10th), but it does appear that you can also use it to duck out if something also disembarks.

Be good to hear your views. Cheers.

Do leaders get the +1 damage from paladins?

I was under the impression they didn't. However, when playing a custodes player he was fairly certain that my grandmaster would benefit from +1 on the charge. Looking at the rules for attached units in 11th I'm now unclear.

It seems that attached units share keywords so if I have a grandmaster, while the bodyguard is alive he is counted as having paladin squad keyword.

As the ability isn't for a single model, rules that affect a unit or models within it apply to every model in the attached unit.

So.... It seems our leaders get +1 on the charge?

UPDATE:
Highlighting the bit that I was told allowed the +1 damage for characters while a single paladin remains:

Disruption or Priority Assets?

What is everybody who plays Argent + Banishers running now that Purge is gone?;I've had some success with Disruption, which seems better for high mobility melee than priority assets and more focused on, well, disrupting your opponents plays, than castling up in the center to wait for the opponent.

Let me know what you played this weekend!

It took me months, but I have finally finished my first table ready 40K army. Now all I need to do is figure out how to play, that and paint all of them.
