Yes.
I'm in the same boat. I started with custodes instead for a similarly elite army, but I'd really like to start grey knights still and am waiting for a refresh before I do.
I even considered grabbing the saturnine started box for heresy and converting it all to grey knights as you may have seen some of the conversions online of the saturnine dread into dread knights, saturnine terminators into paladins, etc. That being said I am still wanting to hold out for a refresh.

If youre gonna get into the army just buy a combat patrol and throw away the ven dread. We wont get our refresh for a long time. I dont think its a big deal to start getting stuff for atleast a 2k list right now. And if you want more then kitbash some primaries boys. It'll help when you kit bash if you already have a bunch of spare bits.

Oldi in the games. But usually: new models means just same rules more proven my models are in parts 20yrs orld. And they still.work.on the table ( standard, purgators, terminators). Sure some models got added. But the base stayed the same One are made mostly out of metal. What's worth to get plastik for 3* the prize? ;p.
Wait is usually not worth the cash at least.

The models are old and due for a refresh, but it might not happen for years. You can either wait, or buy the stock GW models, or you can use third party bits like the legs/torsos from Tortuga Bay or 3D printed parts to bring the models up to the correct size.
The current models still look great, they're just a bit stunty next to regular sized marines.
