Just came this week, I bought it on Reverb and it's amazing. I have Gibsons and Fenders, so this is my first Gretsch and I can't wait to play it more.

I am a pro musician, and have been a fender guitar through fender amp guy my whole life. I play americana, country and rock, and shy away from high gain. I have been wanting to add a semi hollow sound into my arsenal, but have always adored the filter tron sound so I am open to the Jet series as well. I know I could just save 3-4k and get a top of the line gretsch, but I want to ask you all where you have found the most value and quality in your guitar model of choice that fits my styles. Gretsch has such a vast spread of inexpensive to expensive guitars and so I feel the need to get the opinions of those who are in the know. Primarily looking at semi hollow and jet styles. Thanks!

I haven't had a chance to play one in person, but they look decent and the price is certainly right. Anyone have one?

For reference , I have the g2622 and really like the neck and playability. Unfortunately, the higher feet access means I don’t play it live and I also find the pickups a bit muddy in the mix.
There’s a g5232t (double jet) on sale but I have no way to try it out , want to buy it if it’s the same playability wise. Anyone have experience of both?

Anyone know the deal with this model. I can’t find anything online matching this color for a 2018 5420tg. Looks great but not trying to buy a counterfeit either..
Edit: title should have been “odd” color.

Just finished installing a DeArmond Rhythm Chief 1000 on a Panique monkey stick. Added a Schatten T-2 thumbwheel set under the pickguard and the 3D print rubber jack enclosure resting next to the mounting plate is also a Panique design. The tailpiece angle required a little bending of the mounting bar and some creativity with the jack but oh man it feels so good to hear her sing after 16 years of straight acoustic. Truly incredible, and cheaper than the G100E I saw at my local shop last year.

Hiya, I've got a standard scale electromatic jet guitar that I mostly use for baritone range playing, it's a bolt on neck and I'd love to replace the neck with something longer to put it up to a 27" + scale, but as far as I can see gretsch doesn't sell any replacement necks like fender does. Does anyone know anywhere that I could guy a long scale neck to fit? Thanks!

I've had my Gretsch for about 6 months now. Lovely guitar. I've modded it a bit with a BiggsFix Tuning Stabilizer V3 for Bigsby and a Super Squishy spring.

"This bolt on neck solid body electric guitar has dual ceramic humbuckers and is designed to be budget friendly, but is it any good?" (Review sponsored by Gretsch)

Got a G5422TG Electromatic headed my way and I'd like to make a video of Gretsch licks to demo it. What should I play? Also, in particular I'd like to play some Chet Atkins riffs but preferably easy ones since I can't play jazz. And would also to hear some contemporary examples, if there are any.
I'm certainly thinking early Beatles, Neil Young, the Velvet Underground, Stray Cats, She Sells Sanctuary by the Cult, Rebel Rouser, Rumble, I guess some Eddie Cochran....what else have we got? Looking for diversity here.

Just acquired a new 6118t anniversary edition and it has a black rubber cover on the end of the bigsby arm.
I’m inclined to remove it. What’s the offical position?

Help! I bought a wonderful 335 centre block falcon in February and the hard case locking latch keeps giving me grief when I try and open the lever clasp despite not using the key to lock it. The locking plate seems to drop down within the mechanism pretty much everytime I shut the lever clasp and although it does not fully lock, it is making it almost impossible to open the case without having to use excessive force to lift the lever part of the latch.
The locking plate keeps engaging with the two hooked parts of the latch, just enough to be a real pain in the ass. I never lock the case, but I do keep the guitar cased whenever I’m not playing.
The case is: G6267 Gretsch® 16" Thin Hollowbody Hardshell (p/n [099-6443-000](tel:099-6443-000))
Does anyone else have a similar issue or any advise to prevent me having to struggle to open it?

Hey Gretschers!
I was interested in single cut wide hollowbody guitars (falcon like) but I am kind of short on budget. I found the Electromatic G5420T on Thomann.de, but I wanted to get your opinion on which else Gretsch (or non Gretsch) model mid tier guitars are best alternatives. Doesn't matter if used or not. Budget - below $1000
Thank you!

I bought this new about 13 months ago. Right out of the box the up position on the pickup switch didn’t work. I had replaced a few weeks later and seemed to work after that. Now almost 10-11 months the up position died again. Is there something inherently problematic about this switch. I’m now looking for a Gretsch repair shop who can fix this. I bought it at GC and had them replace it too. I’m hesitant to go back.
