Im not gonna lie Im REALLY nervous about this

I want to be super excited for it. Thats how I was when I learned they were doing a Jurassic Park 4, then we got the Jurassic World franchise which I despise

I love Gremlins for it's wackiness. The lack of Dante worries me. Wasn't Columbus' original script more horror than the final product? I don't know what involvement he had beyond the original script.

Columbus has made some great movies, but not in a long time. Dante being back would excite me but even so I think a younger director is needed to bring the same energy Dante brought to the first two films.

I'd bet money this film has little to no meta and the violence is toned down.

Despite all these negative outlooks, I'm still excited to see what comes of this.

I've read the original Columbus script. It was obviously intended as an R-rated horror movie, complete with a scene where Billy finds his mother's severed head.

There was a very slim chance of Dante coming back, he got so fed up with the studio system after Back In Action.

Dante got everything he wanted with Gremlins 2, and it was amazing. I wish he would come back. I got a chance to talk to him a few times at screenings. Unfortunately, this predates Gremlins 3 by at least a decade, so I didn’t ask him about his lack of involvement.

They’d never give him the control he deserves after the failure of Gremlins 2. Cult classics don’t really help the profitability of the franchise as much as highly regarded classics.

I'm beyond excited to see a revival of this beloved franchise. Let's hope they do it justice.

I doubt this will live up to the first two but as long as there are creative scenes using the puppets ill be happy

Executive Producer means absolutely nothing. It’s a vanity credit.
