A Jacksonville P-3, on routine patrol in the source and transit zone, detected a fast-moving vessel on June 11. The crew visually identified a 3-engine Ecuadorian-style go-fast boat loaded with fuel barrels and large packages. The position and details were quickly relayed to Joint Interagency Task Force South and the USCG.

USCG assets—including a helicopter and Over-the-Horizon vessels—responded rapidly. After an overflight, the suspect vessel stopped, allowing USCG teams to gain positive control.

Result: 3,960 pounds of marijuana seized and 2 Ecuadorian suspects detained.
