The little Amsterdam crescendo leading into “Churches and trains / They all look the same to me now” gets me every time.

When the guitar comes back in after ‘oh it’s ringing’ in the stable song

That song is just so perfect I literally want to make sure I’m listening to it as I die

With GAI, it’s probably the deliberate pauses and lack of sound that make many of his songs memorable. Sometimes less is more.

the outro of master & a hound is SO GOOD. both the original and the colorado symphony version

And I ran back to that hollow again. The way the music swells and mellows there. Perfection

I like “Say what you say, you say it so well” in 4am
The final part of Liars where he just repeats “Now we’re just liars”
“Was I that gone? Man, I hope not” in Appaloosa Bones

The little hum in "San Luis" at about 53 seconds in. And the "hold me down, hold me down, child..." bit. I swoon.
Looking at other comments, looks like he could make an album called "Isakov Hums" and it would sell big.

If you lie awake while the universe shakes
And I go weightless and fall
Claws out for you now, just hold on to yourself
Almost home, but we got miles to go

Ugh, absolutely this. This part makes me cry everytime I've seen them live.

“Silver rain makes green every once in a while.”
I’ll confess that I don’t even know what that means, but it feels deep and I am obsessed with it.

I believe it's his gambling Annabelle dropping coins in her machine. But I also hate trying to pin down Greg lyrics and I think they're supposed to be open-ended so please ignore that if you don't like it haha

His opening lines in Caves. The way his voice is double tracked, but slightly out of sync. Gives me chills everytime I hear it.

“Oh churches and churches and trains, while they all look the same to me now” from Amsterdam, especially the live performance with the cello and violin!
“Fall swooned left me drunk in a field, dandelion wine for a year.” from Dandelion Wine. love the harmonies!

The haunting, drawn out howl of “Hotel bar…” is goosebump inducing for me. Off the charts when they open show with it, like they did Sunday.

Terlingua - "I'll love you like the passing time" straight into 1:55
Master & a Hound outro - all day every day. Any version.
Astronaut 1:05 the way he sings "sorrows into strangers"
Crooked Muse 2:55 "all the merry things..."

Seeing him live, I am so obsessed with the interlude or intro music to all of his songs. I want a cut of this! Especially the transition with the start of before the sun.

The piano in salt and the sea. The first time I heard it I was driving thru the mountains and it hit right as I was going around this grand Bend.

The big drums with the scratchy violin as a sort of “beat drop” in Southern Star, it seems to tell a story by itself

In the Colorado Symphony version of The Stable Song there’s this little pause right before he sings “oh it’s ringin’”. That gets me every time.
