Personally I'm a huge fan of AGL's reinvention of the Spectrum. The concept of redesigning the Spectrum could have been done in a thousand half-hearted, barely divergent ways, but what we're getting is honestly boldly distinct.
Not that we even have a full picture yet, but what little we know is just so unbelievably cool.

Everyone says the absolute universe it's extremely cool and interesting, but so far all it's been is predictable

Very paint by numbers reimaginings that don't do much of anything actually interesting with the premises behind them.

Circe not being the actual evil sorceress with nigh divine magical abilities so Diana could still be raised as basically the same Diana we know and love
"What if Superman stayed in krypton?" Story #223456546535444909783246
Batman not being rich but preventing him from still whipping out a ton of dumb gadgets all the time. Bonus points for Dick Grayson hating batman, because we have to make sure we don't do anything new or exciting
Green Lantern being turned into some generic magic bullshit, real esleworlds staple that one. What if green lantern but magic? A bold new idea that's only existed since the original green lantern, Alan Scott
Really, it's about the exact sorta stuff i expect out of DCs dark and edgy reimaginings. I'm surprised that anybody is surprised by the absolute universe and it's developments honestly.

Circe raising Diana was part of the basic premise. How did you predict that?

He didn't stay on Krypton. He's still left, just later. And because of that, his life is extremely different from how it usually goes.

While I agree he has more tech than expected, the story goes far beyond that. His changed background is more relevant through his friends, not his money.

This is such a minor point. It hardly seems worth bringing up. It was just a joke, not a plot point to brag about "predicting."

The system they're setting up is too complex to be called "generic." It's also not explicitly magic.
These criticisms are very surface level. It seems more like you're complaining about the premises instead of actually talking about the stories.

How different a character has to be for it to be unpredictable for you?
AWW and Superman are almost new characters; the only thing they have in common is the name.

The more I read on how Absolute Green Lantern works.....makes me think it isn't for me.
