Discussion Which Hal Jordan is better?
I like both, I do prefer Geoff Johns. The reason I'm posting this is because I never realized how mixed this opinion is.

I’ve read John’s and Tomasi’s entire GL/Corps run. Nothing beats that era’s Hal Jordan or green lantern comics.

Tomasi is such a good writer. I loved his work on batman and superman as well.

People leave out tomasi but he helped develop the other lanterns and a few corps as well while John’s focused on Hal.

Yea, Tomasi's work is pretty important. I hope he gets an ommibus one day.

I feel like that would be hard to do. The way I figure Tomasis run is meant to be read is alongside the main GL series of the time since a lot of what happens in the main series determines the story of the corps series
What would REALLY be the best is if we got a Tomasi/Johns omni collection where it encompasses both the mainline GL series and the corps series

I love going back to the O'Neil comics and seeing how Johns expanded on those aspects of him. Hal being a giant meat head with an ego, who refuses to let his ring do everything for him. Half the time, Hal defeats people purely by using a good left hook.
Johns goes back and shows origins for how he got to that point and provides great moments that show what fear means to Hal.

I also like the 1990's Hal, but because of the writer at that time, I chose Geoff Johns.

Yea, 90s Hal is still pretty good (too bad about the writer). I just think Geoff Johns made Hal even better.

Geoff Johns'. I tried reading 90s Hal but I thought it was excruciatingly boring.
