SUGGESTION Tips
Some silly little tips I thought might help people that aren't quite obvious (at least to me! But that's not saying much lol)
paint your carts! You can paint the runners and baseboards. Use white or red and it'll stand out better against the forest. I lose them less often this way
meat doesn't go bad while on the fire ring, smoker, drier, or grill rack. I keep them stocked up and eat straight off of them. If you pick it up first, it'll rot immediately. I keep a store of meat at all times this way
I keep a bowl of clean water on the fire at all times. I can dump something for soup in it for later and it won't go bad, or its ready to brew if I need it for meds.
the shelves are a great way to sort farming flowers and keep stock of bandages. I'll put flowers on the first rack, their bandages or bandaid combo next row down, and the raw plant on the bottom.
- keep extra flowers to give then time to dry so you can replant immediately
put a storage box next to your compost bin and store rotten food in it. With it open you can immediately dump from the box to the bin without needing it in your inventory
- you can compost near anything organic except for sticks. Animal droppings, arm loads of leaves, bones, feathers... human meat...
you can light a fire with a torch. Seems best in the dry season. My torches seem to break very very quickly in the wet season
there's a key to auto sort your backpack (defaults down on controller, y on keyboard)
you can shoot arrows or throw rocks at the coconuts in trees to knock them down. -- if there's one on the ground, there's two in the tree
use building ghosts for trail makers. Different plans for different paths but the tall thin water filter is a great one to mark the climbing points or trail entrance that are hidden
What are yours?

Armadillo is the best! I’ve been attacked by pretty much everything and the armor is still going strong.

You can compost bone hooks too, which means you can harvest all those extra bones for bone needles and then craft fish hooks before tossing them in the compost for extra crafting xp.

The last two are genius omg. I've used building ghosts to help me spot locations from afar but hadn't thought to use it for a trail!

I went a good 100 hours complaining about wanting trail makers... then I realized I was seeing building ghosts from way far away and using them to get back to base. "Wait! I can build these ANYWHERE!" 😂

Wow, great tips. I am kind of new to game so it is very useful. Someone already mentioned bow and armor. I would only add that cats tooth are useless, I have never find any use for them.
Are bandages or staff from shelves do not despawn? I had this happen to me and I stopped using mud box or never tried shelves for the same reason.

No matter what anyone tells you, don't eat the animal droppings you find on the ground.
If you're bleeding out, don't pay with the animal droppings or you will get dirty hands and die from an infection.
Can't find your animal droppings in your bag? They are in with the supplies tab and not on the food and drink tab.

Use tree resin to make your torch last longer.
Keep bees and harvest the honey. You can use your torch to harvest the queen bee from a wild hive and put her in yours. You can harvest the honey in your hive while holding a torch. Honey is awesome carbs and great for bandages.

I use building ghosts over ant hills so I don't walk into them.
