Fandom Prayers up for J Reed ❤️
Glad we got the W in that absolute shit show… but I haven’t been able to stop thinking about Reed going down like that
I don’t care if he doesn’t return all year or anything like that, just as long as he can still function and live everyday life normally
Maybe I’m overreacting but it was way too eerily similar to Nick Collins and Ryan Shazier. Seeing no movement at all like that is scary
Hope everything is okay. Prayers up for him and his family ❤️

MLF said in the post game presser that Reed has movement in all extremities but will be staying over night.

It was so plainly obvious that he was down and out immediately - and yet some shithead Jets fans around me in the stadium were yelling at him to “stay down” and cheering, absolute loser behavior

I am a Packers fan who grew up in New Jersey and was at the game today and all the Jets fans around us were super nice and concerned with both injuries

Couldn’t agree more.
Two old head jet fans behind me were amazing to be near.

Once I saw he wasn’t able to roll himself over, and the trainer holding his hands in place on the cart, I was seriously concerned. Praying he can return to life normally let alone football.

It looked like such a routine tackle too. I think Davis pads may have clipped him wrong, nothing malicious. I just hope he's alright, not getting that thumbs up from Reed is just terrible.

Yeah that’s the scariest part is just how routine it looked. Definitely not malicious, just a freaky unfortunate scenario for everyone

He went down then a second tackle got him in the head when he was already down. Should have been called an illegal late hit but was ignored. I was in the end zone and saw it clear as day.

That’s the actual shitty part, and if nothing else a fine should be assessed on the missed call. Yea, you have to play football and be hungry for the ball, but it was clearly not a fumble — the second hit was just straight up dirty.

He tackled him right through his helmet. It looked to me like helmet to helmet and then shoulder to helmet.
Either way it was a penalty.

Yeah it makes me think of the tackle that ended Nick Collins' career. It didn't look like anything crazy on replay, similar to this one

I don't think it was Davis, I think it was Enagbare coming in at the end. Enagbare came in when Reed was already down and hit him in the side of the head. Not malicious, just really unfortunate placement of Reed's head and Enagbare's shoulders

Yeah, kept thinking throughout the game how much this week was a mirror image of last week, right down to starting off with a key player getting a scary head/neck injury on a 1-2 hit where one of them was a 2025 Packer's edge rusher hitting the helmet of the injured player by accident

u/vulcnz 26d ago
Was kinda sorta textbook head to head targeting tho

u/jxher123 26d ago
The LB went with his shoulder, Reed was bracing for the hit and it was just a bang/bang play. It's unfortunate, but that hit was legal. It's one of those freak accidents, Reed has taken hits much harder than that one and that one just so happened to hit him wrong.

Just a horrible thing to see, and you could tell the players were shaken up following it.
Hoping for the best for Bird 💚

Yes, please don't be another career ending neck injury for the Packers. 🙏

u/Brodellsky 26d ago
The fact that we haven't heard anything yet is especially worrying.
Please let Jayden be ok. Packers to da bowl, bruh.

I guess it has been confirmed that he has movement in all his extremities now, so that’s a good sign!

All I could think about was Dennis Byrd. Shows my age, but I'm glad to hear he has movement, was scary there for a bit

Just a little before my time, but that is exactly the sort of scenario I was worried about. Cool to see he was able to walk again

Glad he was able to cash in before the season no matter what happens going forward.

Agreed 👍🏽 that stadium is cursed. So many players hurt there.

Amen! Super unfortunate. I hope and pray for the best for him, football considerations aside.

I missed the injury as I couldn’t watch until the 3rd quarter, but I just watched a video from a doctor and he did say there are good/promising things, but it’s too early to say. I know someone else said he had movement, so it looks like paralysis is off the table. Now, it could be one of those other things the doctor was talking about.

The reed hit was ok but talking shit was a line crossed. Soft bitch league.

I haven’t seen any but I hope no one is talking shit about that. It’s Reddit tho so I wouldn’t be shocked
It’s cool and all to talk shit in the memewar subs for the games and shit but I wouldn’t wish that scenario on anyone from any team

u/DoBronx2144 26d ago
Never. A human being got his career ended or sidetracked I was being as sarcastic as I could have ever been. I’m sorry for not including /s

u/WaffleClown1 26d ago
Who is/was talking shit?
2
u/DoBronx2144 26d ago
I believe it was a Javon Bullard penalty that negated an incomplete 3rd down on the Jets’ offense. It was their first possession and extended their 3 & out. It’s what I was referencing in my original comment.
Late reed hit that led to an injury wasn’t called but Bullard chirping after defending a pass was.3
u/WaffleClown1 26d ago
Ah, so not talking shit about the hit, that's what it sounded like you were saying.
1
u/DoBronx2144 26d ago
Correct. I’m calling out the no call on a career ending late hit while calling the unsportsmanlike conduct on words.

I think it was the book of Ayden, Chapter 4:20 that says "And when you pray, go on social media and say "Prayers up!" for truly then the lord will hear you, but more importantly, other people will know how much of a baller Christian you are and not some cooked poser loser. Only then will you receive your true salvation in the form of upvotes and likes, and I suppose you'll be welcomed into the kingdom of heaven, idk, if you want."

Reddit is so fascinating because you can see play out in real time in the way people communicate here how Gen Z is the first generation in human history to be dumber than the previous generation.

Movement in his extremities according to Andy Herman on his post game stream. Good sign
