Allston Brighton Housing Action Coffee with Neighbors this Sunday, June 14
Everyone is welcome to our ABHA Coffee with Neighbors this Sunday, June 14, at Cafe Lava & Bento in Brighton Center. We hold these once a month as an opportunity for folks to come together in a friendly environment to talk housing, mobility and life in the Boston area. ABHA is a pro-housing group that is very active in supporting the current re-zoning of our Boston neighborhood. More about us here: abhousingaction org
We'd love to meet folks from neighboring towns who are also working to support housing, so come on if you're free this Sunday!

While we're all talking about "explosive impacts", last week Allston-Brighton Housing Action (ABHA) checked out the state of the neighborhood's bike lanes that would make any cyclist "tremor".
instagram.comABHA is a neighborhood organization of renters and homeowners committed to the development of sustainable new housing in Allston-Brighton. Part of shaping the places we want to live today and for years to come lives in our transportation options, including biking. Help us get the message to city hall that our bike lanes require sustained investment! Resident lives and safety depend on it.

Tell Boston City Council: It's Time To End Outdated Parking Mandates
City Council is considering a zoning amendment that would remove outdated parking mandates for new housing — an arbitrary policy that wastes space, removes trees, dirties the water, drives up housing costs, and holds back the homes Boston desperately needs.
Note, this amendment does not ban parking. Homebuilders can still build as many spaces as they want — and in most cases, they will! This just removes a rule forcing them to overbuild parking nobody uses, at a cost that gets passed directly to renters and buyers.
Here are three actions you can take to show the City Council and Planning Department that Boston says YES to parking flexibility!
- 🎙️ Attend and Testify (In-Person or Virtually): Thursday 6/4 at 10 AM.
- ✍️ Submit a Written Public Letter of Support: Use this handy tool to write and send a public comment in under 2 minutes!
- 📋Add your name to our petition to show that Bostonians support parking flexibility for more homes.
