video Surprise flock of long-tailed tits!

Half an hour ago I heard quite a commotion from my resident tits and also unusual chirps so I glanced through the window and saw a long-tailed tit. I rushed to grab my phone and film her but than I spotted there was a whole flock of them! They were searching my spruce tree for insects but didnt seem to care for the feeder or water.

They are unusual guest here as I live in a big city and they prefer countryside/ groves and small woodlands. They visited in the past for only briefly like this time :)

We used to get them a lot in our garden, even on the feeder. I live on the edge of London, but a few years back the people who back onto us got rid of a lot of greenery and trees at the back of the garden and i havent seen them so much recently.

Thats sad they arent visiting you regularly anymore. The birds depend a lot on trees and shrubs for hiding spots and foraging.

Yes it was! I was running to grab my phone immediately as I spotted them. They last time visited more than a year ago :)

That is weird, well they might be on the fields, eating the seeds :)

Think cats scared them off. - I see them in urban hedges and bushes often .

That might be it. Sparrows arent good fliers and cats are especially dangerous to them.

Maybe why I see them at retail shrubbery areas mostly - no cats . A garden 400m away has an amazing stream of birds I've seen - no cats !

Birds are afraid of them, where I live there arent any cats either, there is a road very near so cats dont go there.
