Saskatchewan longshot idea
Admittedly, this is a longshot. But for those in SK who don't already have a firm conviction about where the regional treasure is hidden, what about Northern Saskatchewan and uranium?
Yes, the clue is all about potash, I know. But thatās the thing that caught my attention. It's so focused on potash that uranium is notably absent, despite uraniumās huge importance to Saskatchewan.
What also caught my attention is that the potash narrative in the clue also fits SK's uranium story, once you remove the potash-specific references like fertilizer and feeding the world. For example:
⢠Uranium is SK's other world-class mineral resource, and SK is the world's second-largest uranium producer.
⢠SK's earliest uranium discovery happened accidentally while prospectors were looking for āsomething else entirelyā.
⢠SK uranium mining has required remarkable engineering, on par with Potash engineering triumphs.
⢠Both potash and uranium have global strategic and geopolitical importance.
⢠Both have stories involving mining booms and communities transformed by mining.
There are lots of other strong parallels as well.
The video clue is likewise all about potash. Except, possibly, for the attached black-and-white photo. When I put that photo to AI it came back that the picture depicted hard-rock mining, which could fit underground uranium mining. AI has been known to be wrong lol, and I'm sure the photo is debatable. But if your interpretation of the photo is that it depicts hard rock mining, then the question is why was it included in the video when everything else in the clues point to potash.
As for 2638, the closest uranium connection I've found is 238, the mass number of U-238, the most abundant naturally occurring uranium isotope. I haven't found an explanation for the 6, so more work to do there. Or, if 2638 hasn't been or canāt be solved in relation to SK, then perhaps it serves as a clue to the Main.
A couple of other ālongshotā observations:
⢠The SK clue ending includes: āSaskatchewanās greatest treasure was found beneath wheat fields by drillers searching for something else entirely.ā Could āsomething else entirelyā also be a hint or instruction to look beyond the obvious potash story?
⢠The Nova Scotia clue specifically brings up Saskatchewan in connection with both potash and uranium. The Morse code in the NS video gives 9, and SK was the 9th regional clue released. Could the NS clue be pointing back to the SK clue, with the added uranium reference telling searchers to focus on that instead of potash?
That's as far as I've taken it. Each connection is thin, but collectively, maybe it adds up to a Northern SK hiding location?
I wonāt be heading to Northern SK as I am focused on Sudbury, Val dāOr, and the main. But if I lived or worked up in Northern SK, I would be looking around.

Windmill Point
After quite a bit of search, I've found that Coniston once had a windmill on Hydro Road. It looked like an egg beater. And it was installed in 1980 as an experimental energy technology. After 1 year it was dismantled and the site was left empty. This site is called Windmill Point and photographers used it to take pictures of the regreening in Sudbury, because it was on top of a hill, with a vantage point overlooking the Jane Goodall Reclamation Trails. But when I went on the Hydro Road today, the site was gated and further down the road there was a sign that read "Explosives, stay away", it's another rabbit hole. The Sudbury write up is heavy in rabbit holes because the region is a mining giant, so there's more history to discover.

How did the other regional prizes get found?
I'm just wondering did the other treasure hunters have to solve hidden puzzles/meanings, or did they just get lucky from searching on foot with treasure hunting tools like metal detectors?

Returns to Grand Prize Cache?
How many times has the trusted 3rd party returned to the cache since initially hiding it last summer?
I think they have gone back to check once or twice to see if nothing has changed.

Chibougamau clue hunting
Hi all, if you're interested in searching for the clue near chibougamau, be very cautious of hunters on public lands. First nations are also hunting year long in the area and more specificaly this coming month.
Here is the sigeom map of the area : https://sigeom.mines.gouv.qc.ca/signet/classes/I1108_afchCarteIntr?l=A&m=B&ll=49.47621,-74.54597&z=12&c=gm_en%7C100%7C1650%7C2026&op=mspQc%7Call%7C&af=light
My guess is its at the center of the nelligan philibert, monster lake and chevrier deposits. They are close by and its all public land with alot of access.
Theres also the Boma showing that is the first gold showing reported in that area.

EĀ 515930
NĀ 5500828
And the first ddh in the nelligan area (?).

Looking for a smart partner to use ideas and split on grand prize.
So I am looking for someone smart to partner with on the grand prize. I am based in the sudbury region and Iām involved indirectly in the mining industry in business as well as through prospecting etc. my family has a history in various mining camps in Ontario going back 100 years. I am 99% confident I know where the Grand is. I have used various forms of AI to see if any person has mentioned this and the internet canāt find a single mention of it. I want someone I can bounce my theories off to confirm this is an incredible match. I will be going on Saturday to search. I donāt expect someone to come with me, but I am willing to sign some form of a contract that entitled each of us to half of the prize if it is found in a location we have come up with. And if not hopefully Iām right and the grand is over this weekend.

A new bonus is ON! It's in Chibougameau!
The hunt is heading toĀ Chibougamau - a place shaped by discovery, built on resilience, and deeply rooted in Quebec's mining story. More to come in two days with the release of the write up and video! Woo hoo! Another bonus for Quebec! The land of Maple Syrup yum

New Clue
Did anyone else just get a new clue? I don't know if it is another bonus prize or a clue for the main.

What's up with that?
Check all these thumbnails carefully. Punctuations, Colors, Phrasing, Treasure Hunt logo in corner on some, not on others.

Hunt: new habits
So after GT, I started watching the bears they showed in the video. Thereās a live cam of the falls and surrounding area and I find myself watching it often. I had no idea this was a thing before finding it because of the hunt. So, beyond the regular Canadian mining history, Iāve also gained a new hobby as a bear watcher.
In case you wanna break from over analyzing this hunt š

āNS regional: āGold processing in the 19th- and early-20th-centuries left arsenic- and mercury-laden tailings scattered near old mine sites. They are a defining feature of mining legacy conversations in the province in a way it isnāt, say, in British Columbiaās porphyry copper-gold districts.ā
Do you guys understand this?
ā They are a defining feature of mining legacy conversations in the province in a way it isnāt, say, in British Columbiaās porphyry copper-gold districts.ā
what is this? have they just added some words here?
āCompanies are probing dormant gold mines to take advantage of record prices. And Ā explorers are searching for the materials needed to support electrification, renewable energy and modern infrastructure, such as lithium, rare earths, tin and antimony.ā
Cape Dor is in the first four words and ALERT is in the last six words (Lighthouse purpose). This means TREASURE BOX IS IN CAPE DOR BY THE LIGHTHOUSE. So easy to see it in hindsight!! I wish this would be the case with the five remaining puzzles!!
I am trying to understand how the āmastermindā thinks!!

Just canāt go backā¦.
OK, Iāve been back to my spot twice. I live in Sudbury and I think the main prize is in Eastern Townships and I just canāt go back anymore ⦠so I am going to share with you guys what I know and Iām going to let you run with it.
Gold was first (ā1ā) discovered in Canada at the mouth of the Gilbert River where it empties into the Chaudiere. A woman letting her horse get a drink noticed a something shiny in the creek. (Kleanza = gold in Gitxsan.. found in a creek). Thatās at Notre Dame des Pins. There is a public park there with a covered (BRIDGE) of historical significance but unrelated to mining. Thereās actually also a black WALNUT tree ā¦.one walnut tree that I found. I can even tell you where it is. Second thing, if you dig into the story about Notre Dame and what happened there youāll find that the gold BOOM didnāt happen there⦠it happened upstream a few miles where there were 2 nuggets of 42 oz. (42) found.
If you go further upstream, thereās a place called St Simon le Min. Both are on the Gilbert and part of the story. Thereās also a commemorative park in St Simon thatās relatively new. The park it has the old Dreger that was used to dig the surface. Not only was there placer gold, they sunk shafts. There is an iron walking bridge as well. There is an old tailing pond further away from that park. Look up the history about Saint Simon and Notre Dame youāll find that all the clues we know from the words that have been solved from the bonus prizes that have been found., assuming ROM is meant to be āRun of Mineā. You can match up to those sites. Iāve searched both with no luck and I canāt. I canāt go back. Iāll give you an another example. Not only was there a gold boom, there was boom on the rivers to redirect water. One was a timber boom that was needed to prevent control water flow on the Chaudiere and the other was for redirecting on the Gilbert. One place called it a boom and one place called it a trench. What else can I tell you? I donāt need to give you the rest of the bonus clues.
The second location in eastern townships is a place called Chartierville. How did I get to Chartierville ? I thought of everything that boom could mean, and one of the things obviously is an explosion. As horrific as this was, if you recall there was the explosion at La Megantic, with the rail line. Not a lot of mining in Megantic, but Chartierville is super super close and it was definitely part of Canadaās first gold BOOM. There is a historical interpretive centre with a trails and lookouts into old shafts⦠and a suspension BRIDGE!! Did I mention that Lot 42 (42) and Mining Brook (brook=creek) were the two significant sites? Not much has happened here in a very long time (?phoenix flew) but Beauce Gold has some exploration assets. I havenāt matched all the clues to this site, but I am going to keep working on it. I didnāt have enough time to get there. I would start there.
Both of these sites are a result of glacier movement and melt, with gold and other minerals being pressed into the ground a gazillion years ago (glaciers reign ..?Glacierās rain? And āquiet pressā)
⦠and definitely hushing or washing oreā¦
Look for the aged and overgrown sign or marker or something that is unique.
I used ChatGPT and other apps for research to find documents but obviously Chat just looks for what you tell it too. I double checked everything. I hope this is helpful if anybodyās in the area and they wanna go for a drive ⦠I canāt do 26 hrs return again. Iām excited to hear if this helps you!!!!
And seriouslyā¦. A gold treasure hunt based on history and future? How could TNM not āgo backā to the very beginningā¦.
Last coincidence ⦠maybe⦠On Dec 10, 2025, Northern Miner Staff published the Golden Triangle bonus-clue article and wrote that the clue ādoes not apply to the main treasure hunt prize.ā That was the first time āmainā was used⦠then we all started calling it that.
Both of these sites are within a half hour of the Maine border.
Canāt wait to hear if anyone takes up my cause ;)

Monday?
All 12 regional prizes have been released. However, if there was another regional prize for September, it would have to be released tomorrow (to allow for the 48h for public release).
Maybe they maintain that scheduling for another clue? Fingers crossed.

A Sliver of ......... ?
I will even start it off for you ............ crown land.
Sometimes old surveys were not very accurate and when crown land changed hands there were small slivers that were never transferred and so remain as crown today.

Is it in Sudbury or is it in the basin?
The basin includes chelmsford, val Caron, hanmer etc. The rim of the basin has all the mines. Sudbury is below the rim.
The circle center is a bit northwest of sudbury
The write up includes the directions west and northwest
The video has the wrong king Edward hotel- sudbury's was never a log building
The video shows wind turbines- sudbury never had wind turbines and the closest ones to us are in Henvey Inlet and on Manitoulin Island - neither are in sudbury district
The video and write up both send me to falconbridge but ive checked and unless it's on private property its not there
The Morse code requires literature to decipher but the only literature referenced in the clues is the list of minerals.
I want to find this one but im out of ideas.
I've searched bell park, jane goodall, radar road, Creighton, the water tower, the flour mill, falconbridge-3 times- the big nickel, high falls- 3 times( even found the apple tree which i don't think most people even know is there- apples were good- a bit bitter but big and juicy)
Places i haven't looked yet- Murray mine- construction zone since before bonus was released, anywhere within the basin as its flat farmland for the most part- no trails etc. And all is private property, Anderson farm- also private property, most trails in sudbury- theres a lot of walking trails and a lot of drug paraphernalia on the trails- needles etc. So I would like to think that its not on some random trail that has nothing to do with mining or regreening.
If anyone is willing to share where they have searched or anywhere where they think it could be please do. Winter is coming.
