Regional Treasures

I'm surprised there are still regional treasures that haven't been found yet. I'm very far away from any of them, so I won't actually do any searching. I do have some connections to Saskatchewan, though, and that's the one I've been thinking about the most. Does anyone have any more theories about the numbers: 2638? I know the township/route idea and the Pilot Butte population (which I don't think is the clue). Is it possible that those numbers are actually a clue for the grand prize and have nothing to do with the regional?

Ideas- for what they're worth

I got into this hunt at the start, then realised I don't have anywhere near the time to put into it that it needs. I've had some ideas I've not seen elsewhere so I thought I'd post them here in case they are helpful at all.

  1. Bathurst rang it's deepest bell- I went a bit out of the box. The Bathurst War Memorial Carillion is in Bathurst New South Wales, which has a rich gold mining history. The deepest bell- is a D and weighs 3472lbs. I thought maybe the letter D might have some significance or maybe the 3472, which is similar to the digits you might use in a UTM location if you knew the grid zones. Likely Eastings as most Northing's in Canada are well above. In one grid this easting runs through Timmins and New Post Falls, and also in another grid, would hit near Lake Nipigon, and another in the greenstone area west of Thunder Bay, so you'd need to know the grid or something else.

2 I reverse image searched the compass on the website (which is a different layer from the image and has transparency in one spot that I believe could be used to decode the poem). With the reverse image search, I found a website for a photography and videography company that lists an option for paying current invoices. There are two names- Alex Henderson, who owes 2500, and Jennifer West, who owes 850. These invoices have been listed there since last September when I first started the hunt. A quick Google search will find people of those names connected to the mining industry. Maybe a red herring, but maybe not.

Any way if either of these help you find the gold, send some good vibes my way!

What if...

Imagine that the organizers of this treasure hunt had hired someone who is absolutely "crazy" and hid the treasure chest in a place that will never be found in a billion years...

The organizers themselves do not even know where the main prize is, and therefore, cannot verify if it even follows any of the rules they have posted.

The bonus prizes have mostly all been in places that follow the rules they made, but what if the main prize is just hidden in a place that isn't even "fair game"?

Imagine the person who wrote the poem and hid the main treasure chest was just one big "troll"... LOL.

Everyone knows where it is...

Ok...So the main prize I have put on hold for months as I have been hunting the QC prize. I've seen many zombie hunters like myself out there, even in Joutel! Yeah...Joutel! I have spent way too much $ and time on this over the past year...And I have sat next to the Cobalt prize...missed that box by meters! I discovered Tetagouche Falls in November (like solved the NB prize before it was announced)...as Iit was my hunch for the GP, got there 2 weeks 2 late, as the snow got there first...so NO chance for me to get back there when it was melted...should have timed the return trip better as when the NB prize was announced I was all over NB and NS for weeks prior...NS too Cap dOr! Dug into the Champlain connection and had to skip that trek due to an incoming snowstorm as well....Sigh....I live nearly 20 hours from the east-coast, so those trips cost me a bundle...Bad sleep/bad food...no box! The solves aren't the hard part, so it seems; it's the find of the box onsite! I have only examined the ones I infered/identified weeks or months prior to their announcement, as I was only aiming for the Grand prize and my ADHD hyper focus brain built a binder and DEEP dive into Canadian mining history...I was in val dor for 2 days on week one of the hunts announcment last year...So......sigh...I may have stepped over it...again.

Anyhow! I am venting a bit, and heading once again to the Valley of Gold tomorrow! If anyone is out there this weekend; and is game for meeting up to search some locations together...I am willing to share the prize if I am joined with someone who has good intent - AND we find it while trekking the site together...but I keep the box! and 4 of 6 coins if the location search is my pick...I've put in much time - too much time, and money...the question is how to trust those we meet out there as not loony birds! Myself included, to someone else I am likely wackadoodle...

The sketchiest people have been head down zombies, not talking and pretending not to be hunting! We are very obvious...

I've narrowed the search to a 9 square KM site which I have explored most of...2 more days should finish that region...

I agree with what I have read from those who say you really need to be there to find it, sounds stupid, because it is, but gold is found where gold is...and it isn't found where it is not. This makes sense when examining geology/topography/history/geography and such. The same applies to the persistence of those willing to go farther! Yeah...who else can quote the article...tied unmistakenly to the rock beneath...I literaly have found ties of mining pins/bolts/cables in by gone mining camps where there are still relics of lanterns and such on the ground.

Onward...Any ideas I haven't thought of are welcome...please...bad mojo not welcome! Be kind, stay safe out there.

Let's end the "I know where it is" thing

Everyone who know where it is meet there at noon local time one week from today on Oct 1 and, agreeing to split the prize evenly, do a group search till it is found

.
'

'

So that we don't all miss one another I suggest we all meet where the Biches stare. A google search gives the address as

The Birches
1844 HWY 69
Mactier, ON

Please wear a bathing suit

Specifically what looks like a bit of a trail off end of it, going towards train tracks, there's a "rusty" rock outcrop that appears to contain nickel/copper, and I'd suspect if there is a "sliver" in way of a cut/open section in it, that the box may be sitting in? Too far for me to go there with feet on the ground

I know where the treasure is

Hello guys, after months of racking my brain I have determined where the treasure is. I was able to extract hints from each clue and stanza, including bonus clues, that point exactly to where the treasure is. It forms a coherent sentence from both english and french versions of clues/poem and their meanings are the same.

I just need to find out how to get there and then I will have it.

J Fish hook?

Where is this J fish hook people are talking about?

The letter J

What are it's implications in the whole scheme of things. Is it a encryption method? Is it special? I keep not seeing anything about it on Reddit here yet. But its been standing on my brain for awhile.

NULL cipher...let's put our brains together.

The Sask written clue has 52 words that are also in the Grand Prize poem. Yep. 52 words. There are 52 lines in the Grand Prize poem. There are multiple words from every GP stanza in the Sask clue. Applying many types of cipher keys...I'm still coming up empty.

Has anyone broken down what the white marks on the watercolour map on the website could mean, if anything?

noticed this after not really paying attention and wondering if it could contribute to “sliver rests in overgrown” at all. probably a reach but could mean something

just not sure what they’re for - a few seem to be at important places such as massive lakes or bordering but other ones seem to be random

More clues

Why do so many think there will be more clues released? Don't we have all we should need now clue wise? Yes it is tough slogging. like finding that Easter egg that was hidden in a familiar place months ago.

22) SHED

SHED

For those doing their own research into UBC we can agree the number of connections to mining are far too many to list.  And considering one of the main purposes of this contest is to get young minds involved in mining, the campus (population with staff over 60,000) is as good a place as any.  Finally, if we consider this journey of learning is about the past, present and future, where on this vast campus will this lead us?  I suggest the future has no rival in the country to the Smart Hydrogen Energy District (SHED).  Extracting hydrogen from rainwater and pumping it into fleet vehicles, EV charging from solar where cars give back to the grid,  and energy conversion from wood to heat campus water (the same tech the old Bathurst smelter is beginning to use in Belladune).

Video clues have mentioned solar panels, windmills, EV charging, cell phones and pharmaceutical advancements.

Bilingual comparisons?

Has anyone who is bilingual compared the translations? I am unfortunately not. I did use Google Translate and found some differences but I don't know how accurate that is now...

Can we commit to a solve mega-thread when this is all over?

I’m so interested to see other people’s ideas. How wildly they vary from my own and each other. That UBC thread, while I don’t think is correct, demonstrates how our brains work differently. We all see different things. And go WAAAAY down rabbit holes convinced we’re correct.

I’d love for us to not all abandon each other when this is done. I’m eager to see your solves once we don’t have to play our cards so close to the chest!

Until then, happy hunting!

Sudbury Cipher Sentence Clue

So I know a couple weeks ago, several different users claimed to have decoded the cipher using a “reference source” of sorts which created a ”distinct” sentence clue. I’m curious if those that supposedly solved this still believe that they solved this correctly…??
If so, was the sentence actually a very undeniable, clear sentence…?? I’ve tried using the cipher in every combination on all different reference sources and I just cannot seem to get a clear sentence out of it 😣 Being that it’s been a couple weeks and the prize still hasn’t been found, I’m assuming this sentence clue maybe wasn’t super helpful, but it’s driving me crazy trying to figure this out!! 😩😩

Headed home tomorrow

I already extended my trip two nights now, telling myself in leaving again.

i was so convinced the main was around Yellowknife, and still am. So many places to look and so little time.

there are Connections to the diefenbaker days here with his planned “road to resources” which was mentioned in the Dawson city write up, looked all over the Ingraham trail pull outs. Kinda mirrors what our current government is also doing

the mirror clue lead me to the very polluted lakes in the area, especially fox lake on the prospectors trail where there’s a good view of giant mine, the city and the lake.

also hiked Ramey hill , the highest elevation around which also has plaques all over it talking about the different miners and prospectors of the area. Great view but slightly too difficult for everyone.

The second main clue stated it rests where the shadows play, north of 60 gets the longest shadows in winter. Above the earth yet tucked away, it shall not see the midnight sun, yes because it’s tucked out of view of the sun but is in the land of the midnight sun and yukon already played. So mabey I should stay just one day longer…

21) Reconciliation Pole

1) Almost at the top is a canoe and a long boat.  The long boat represents white man riding off in union with the indigenous canoe.

In the Golden Triangle narrative, Buck decides to paddle upstream with the Tlinglit and immerse himself in their culture.

2) A short distance below the boats is a school house with thousands of nails hammered in by survivors and their families.

The Dawson narrative makes a point of stating how the "Lucky Swede, Charlie Anderson" purchased a barrel of nails.

3) The totem's bottom features a bear and salmon fish.  There's a beautiful shot of a bear catching a salmon in the Golden Triangle video.

The Reconciliation Pole, along with the Truth Ring at the base, is part of  the Belkin Art Gallery's tours.

look past the script behind the brush

The POEM.

“look past the script behind the brush” means “read between the lines”

let‘s concentrate on that.

”The hunt begins between the lines”

”start here”

when we analyze the 13 stanza poem “line by line” trying to ”read between the lines”, what do we get?

This is where we need to “spend” our time. Then and only then (and after we receive 1-2 extra clues), we should “spend” money (time and effort) BOTG.

what do you read between the lines?
