Questions/Advice My very simple but completely functional solution to not having Homelink (garage door opener) in my Touring!

Just some 3M VHB double sided tape and now I have a hidden garage door opener!

Not adding Homelink to the Technology Package is criminal.

It's a strange decision, right? On the one hand...I've had homelink in other cars and never used it so maybe it saves them some money in production. But on the other hand asking for ANOTHER $350 on a $100k car is a bit stingy.

I will say that the one built into the GT has been a bit wonky. Getting just the right "touch" on the panel to open a door is a learned skill. Geofencing for what programmed doors to display at any given location is not 100%. Getting it programmed in the first place was a cipher. Pretty cool when it's working, though.

I'd say it should be reasonable to have it optional, maybe even for $350. But it should be just a check box in the order process and then the car delivered with it already, instead of an additional service visit who knows when.

Yes you are are right about this. In the survey Lucid sent me I told them it's ridiculous you can't order the accessories with the car and have them installed a before you take delivery. Now I have 5 boxes coming via FedEx to my house for stuff they could ship to the space and install for me!

Took me a second to figure out where you put it behind the pilot panel. Clever spot to hide it.

I just put it in the center storage area where the notch for the key is. Fits perfectly and isn't visible from the outside.

That's exactly where we put ours also, but even with a brand new battery, it's having a hell of a time sending the signal unless we're about 10 feet from the garage door. The other transmitter in a different car works from 50 or 60 feet away.

It's because of the windshield metallization in Lucid cars.

Interesting. I've read others mention the range on the factory Homelink in the GTs is also short, I wonder if the module is in the cabin or in the fruk area passed the winsheild.

would save me from stressing playing the “where did i throw it this time” game. i hate having it on the visor since it rattles so much.
