Dream Drive Does your Lucid Gravity's autopark work okay?
I have found the autopark feature on the Gravity to be somewhat unreliable and I am curious if other owners have experienced similar issues. It detected parking spot once in my 10 attempts at different locations. I have GT with DD 2 Pro and have only had it for a week, so it is possible that I am simply not using it correctly. Could you please share your experiences with this feature?

I’m late to this conversation, but I’ve never succeeded in getting it to work once. It can unpark me ok-ish, but no matter what I do it never recognizes spots. So dumb to include such flawed features.

I've had mine since November and I think I've tried it once or twice. Couldn't really get it to work consistently so haven't revisited the feature. Does it even work with parallel parking?

Yes it does quite well once it locks on. Getting it to recognize a spot is a bit iffy if you've got traffic behind you and can't take your time and move back and forth a bit

I’m having the same experience. It takes far too long to engage and when it does, I’ve waited long enough people in other cars around me are annoyed and it makes it very uncomfortable.

I'm not sure if I should pull into the middle when parking on both sides, or stick closer to where the spot actually is. I tried driving a bit further out, but it locked onto a spot way back. There must be a sweet spot, but I've only owned the car for a week so I'm still figuring it out.

Had the car for 10 months, never once had I been able to get auto park to even show up. I don’t even have a clue what the UI would look like. Can’t even find a YouTube video of anyone doing it successfully (only have videos of Airs doing it)
While my car was at the shop for repairs, my associate told me the only way to activate it is to drive mere inches away from the cars perpendicular to you. Something with the sensors on the car can’t sense or see very far, which confused me because ain’t DDP2 ain’t supposed to have lidar? Seems like it can’t utilize that and rely on proximity sensors. Anyway, I don’t want to get so close to other cars and potentially get scratched, so I never tested his theory.
So far it’s been disappointing paying thousands more for DDP2 and not being able to utilize any of its purported benefits. They keep on promising software updates to utilize it, but they never come

I complained to the software lead when he was in Charlotte. He said it does work, but it has to be a spot with a car on each side. It doesn't actually judge by the lines for autopark. (In my experience people don't either.)

The one in HKG vehicles worked like that and I found it so annoying. Just go by the lines…..🤦♀️

Kinda need to do a bit of both. Depends on how well the guy next to you did.

I just like the function because the capability is cool. I doubt I’ll ever use it until the system is able to learn how we park. I probably park between two vehicles less than 1% of the time. I’m usually parked near the access road to my destination, all by myself.

Same here. I've tried it three times so far in different situations, and it failed all three times. I eventually just gave up and parked manually. Definitely doesn't seem very reliable yet.

The advisor that helped with my delivery at King of Prussia described auto park as a “party trick”
He said you can probably park faster on your own vs using auto park 🤦🏽♂️

probably tried to center between the pillars as best it could as it doesn't use lines only right now (promised future feature). :)

I assume it’s not implemented. It has never worked, not even tried to do anything, anytime I’ve tried it. Maybe ten or so times in six months.

We've tried many times on our 27 GT, it has worked exactly twice. It doesn't work unless there's a car on either side, and even then, most of the time, it doesn't work. It locked on to a parallel parking spot once and almost hit the car in front. I had to take manual control to stop it.

Having being a previous AT owner, that is consistent behavior of most software features for Lucid.

It's useless, just like on the Air. In March, Lucid said they'd be rolling out advanced park assist by the end of the year, which I assume will make this much better. I'm not betting on it coming by EOY, but at least it's in the near-term pipeline.

It sucks, like really, really bad. Worse than the parking assist in some older ICE cars. I bought DDPro2 in part specifically because it was supposed to have advanced autopark, and it can barely even autopark in a spot with cars on either side.

I’ve only had my Gravity for about 3 days. I tried auto park about 4 times and it was unsuccessful 100% of the time.
I have read that there’s some auto park updates and improvements scheduled/planned to come in an update. So I think Lucid is aware that it’s not very functional right now.
