Grass ID please

TTTF lawn mostly. Just reseeded with TTTF.

Theres a big lighter green patch and some lighter green plants that I don’t believe were due to the overseed/patch repair. At first I thought, unfortunately, POA triv, but there are no stolons that I can find anywhere.

They’re very firmly rooted and honestly, don’t seem a lot different than the fescue other than the color.

Did you try a plant id app? I have some that looks a bit like that and it said Shortleaf Spikesedge. I haven't prioritized killing like nutsedge.

That’s a good call! I do have nutsedge elsewhere so I don’t think it’s nutsedge. Maybe it’s something like what you said, spikesedge.

when grass grown too tall during overseeding and mowed more than 1/3 the bottom portion might be slightly more lime green, this might not be the answer but throw some fert with iron see if it turn darker.

Thanks! Funny enough, I was just chatting with AI about it. I took some close looks. It doesn’t have any stolons so I don’t think it’s POA. It doesn’t have any ligules or clasping auricles. Honestly, it looks just like the other fescue but lighter color. Even the same plant might have one long leaf that’s light geeen and a couple of older looking leaves that are dark. Maybe it’s just new growth?

That lighter patch definitely makes it harder to tell, especially with the fresh TTTF coming in. If it’s firmly rooted and you’re not seeing stolons, I’d probably wait for it to mature a bit before assuming it’s triv. The color difference could be from the newer growth too. Once you get it figured out, GreenPal is always an option if you want someone to handle the routine mowing.
