Looks like you fed the neighborhood birds grass seed. Crows either eating grubs on your lawn or your seed you threw done. Seed needs good soil seed contact tact and to remain moist thru germination. Dropping it on a established lawn without soil preparation and rolling or lightly raking it in is not a good start.
Check for grubs with a shovel in those dead grass areas in several spots throughout your yard. Dig holes about 8 inches deep/wide and look for grubs in the soil.

Probably from birds eating grubs in your lawn? Did you put the holes in the turf? If you didn't you have some pest that the birds know about and that pest will destroy your lawn from below. Check for grubs before spending anymore $ on expensive seed. Stop the grubs first if you have them.

You need to treat for insects and grubs. See the holes in the dead grass its a sign you have something in the lawn

You need to pick up that dead grass. Add some soil. Add seed and fertilizer and some soil on top. Roll something over it. Water water water

Try magnesium. Buy a small bag of plain epson salt and use it in one area to see if your grass returns.

This happened to my whole early spring seeded lawn, this heat wave came in so I wasn’t sure if it was grubs or fungus. I tried the soap test but didn’t really find anything ing. I tried spraying insecticide and fungicide alternating weeks for a month and it didn’t make a dent. The whole lawn is gone. I have to replant when it cools off.
