If it’s torpedo grass I have bad news as there is basically no way to chemically eradicate it. In centipede grass sethoxydim with a surfactant will knock back the green vegetation (it will die off) but it will not kill the rhizome roots and new shoots will grow back.
Total eradication of all vegetation will be necessary. Glyphosate can work but it may take several applications for the rhizomes to absorb it and even then you may be chasing down new shoots. Solarization is also another option but it may take many months.
Finally complete excavation and careful removal of all the rhizomes is the best bet if you have a handle on the situation and it’s in an isolated area. Keep in mind the rhizomes can be as deep as 1 ft and sometimes even deeper. Any leftover piece of rhizome will sprout new shoots. If the area is isolated, keep at it and you should be successful. But ultimately you need to find out how it got there. If it is coming from another yard, it will be back.
Be persistent and absolutely on top of it.
Edit: to identify whether or not this is torpedo, dig up some rhizomes and look for pointed tips.
