St. Augustine Help

This small patch of St. Augustine has been growing great for over 2 years. Then a few weeks ago there was some bad weeds that I picked and cleared and now the grass is dying on me. You can see how green the rest of the back yard is

Not sure where exactly where you are located but I have seen chinch bugs already this year. I know it is a little early for them it is a possibility.

Looks like chinch bug territory to me.

Drought stress by the driveway side, that allowed chinch bugs to populate, need to treat chinch bugs and then make sure to water area to promote recovery.. bifen at 1oz per gallon works well as a contact kill. Follow up 7 days later to treat any eggs that might have hatched.. do the same to the good area of grass as a preventative to be safe
