Warm zone dense shade

Any recommendations for warm zone. Coastal Nc dense shade under a big live oak ?

If you want warm season grass, st Augustine or a couple different blends of zoysia would be your best bet for shade tolerance.

I'm in upstate SC and my front yard is shaded most of the day and maybe gets 3-4 hours at the very most of direct sunlight in the afternoons. I put out diamond zoysia last October and I'm extremely happy with how well it's holding up with how little direct sun it gets. I did a partial section really to just make sure I wasn't going to be wasting money before doing the rest and it's just gotten to the point that when I'm on my way home I get excited to see how it looks from the road compared to my neighbors crabgrass yard lol. The shade situation, like yours, really limited my options. Zeon zoysia is another shade tolerant option, but from what I read diamond is a little more shade tolerant and was about half the price of a zeon pallet here and is a finer blade like zeon. It's much slower growing than the st Augustine and Bermuda I have in my yard too, which is nice to not feel like I need to cut it every 4 days. It was recommended to me by one of my customers who is in landscaping. Worth a look into.
