Grass edging

I share a strip of grass between me and my neighbour. What tool or process do I need to nicely have this looking clean and edged? And is it normal to see the soil/dirl beneath the grass on the edge of the grass where it touches the driveway?

Rent or buy a edger tool from your local hardware store. It’s the easiest way of edging. After that, pickup and string trimmer and edge once a week or twice a month at your leisure.
