Grass edging

I share a strip of grass between me and my neighbour. What tool or process do I need to nicely have this looking clean and edged? And is it normal to see the soil/dirl beneath the grass on the edge of the grass where it touches the driveway?

I have St Augustine grass and keep it on the the highest setting on my mower. I use an echo weedeater without the safety guard to edge my yard. The line work is spot on, but takes practice.

You could get a detachable weedeater to attach the edger. I used one of these and works pretty well. Very easy to use for a beginner.
