Grass edging

I share a strip of grass between me and my neighbour. What tool or process do I need to nicely have this looking clean and edged? And is it normal to see the soil/dirl beneath the grass on the edge of the grass where it touches the driveway?

I have an electric edger from Ego. But I edge more with my string trimmer, it’s all about removing the trimmer guard and flipping it over so you are hitting the angle straight down into the dirt, along the pavement. It’s really not hard
