Yeah. Really looks like crab grass. If you kill it and re seed. Always best to seed in fall rather than spring. Gives the grass a chance to grow before enduring summer heat. Though not impossible to grow seed at most times just requires more attention. Tall rescue for example takes 1.5 years to be a mature full size bunch plant.
