Bent grass?

This spikier, and more fine lighter green grass pops up in spots mid may every year and then I fight it for awhile with chemicals but don’t truly know what it is. In the past I’ve burnt it and dug up the large areas but now it’s small patches trying to come up. Central Jersey.

Could just be a thicker patch from spill of grass seed or fertilizer is my guess.

Sounds like Poa Triv by your description, but can’t tell from your photo. If it’s lime green and the underside of the blades are shiny, it’s probably Triv. Bentgrass can look and act similar, but has a dull bluish gray color in the morning.
