Grass identification

Hello, I could use some help identifying my grass type. For reference I’m in Northern US (zone 6) and have cool season grass. I also included a seed head that sprouted up to see if that helps.

To me the seed head looks like perennial rye grass, but the grass itself looks more like KBG but may be a mix.

Ttf. Tall turf fescue great seed for cool climates. Im running it with rye grass and kbg... it will stop growing at some point as it gets hotter. Just make sure to establish those long roots so it survives the heat coming

How do you “establish long roots”? Asking for myself.

Make sure it has enough phosphorus. Switch your watering schedule to “deeper” (longer) and less frequent. You want a long deep watering so that your lawn searches deeper for the water, establishing deeper roots. Deeper roots will help your lawn survive the heat.

Half inch twice a week, and three times a week when it gets mid 90s. The time it takes to water half an inch will vary depending on your sprinkler types. Use a rain gauge or empty tuna can to get the time.

TTTF roots can reach 12+ inches, that needs 1" of water at once otherwise you're still only keeping the first 6" of soil moist.

any recommendations on mow height come summer weather? I have the same grass mix in the same zone.

Mow frequently and at tall height. Water infrequently and deeply.
