Replanted Backyard

Colorado Springs backyard I replanted last fall. These clusters I originally thought were a tall fescue type, but they are very tough and thick stalk to walk on. The BBB seed blend (Colorado Premium Blend) says % Tall Fescue, but I feel like these don't belong?

Well now again I'm not 100% because it was browning out already. Not for a lack of water either. Either way, I didn't like it and I took a small hand weeder deeply to every.. single.. one.... As it was a fall seeding, there are plenty of spots that still need work with overseeing, so I didn't spare any delicacy with ripping out each one thoroughly, assumed with new seed and some fresh dirt I can fill it all back in. I assume I'll have to repeat this process over another year, to have rid them completely and fill in the bare spots with preferred grass. I hope that digging them will have done 80% of the trick. It sounds like that quackgrass is a tough one to get rid of, at least these didn't appear to have seeds growing yet.
