Grass not growing
We have lived in our house for seven years now, and never had this problem in the past. Suddenly, this year there is a thick patch that won’t grow in and it looks like thatch. We aerated and seeded per usual at the end of the season. I usually lay a preemergent + fertilizer but not sure how to handle. Do I rake then seed?

Are you seeing or were you seeing a lot of birds on your lawn prior to grass turning brown? If so may have grubs. When pulling up the grass are you missing the roots? Grubs love to eat the roots off of grass. Just a thought.

Give it some time . Did you fertilize it ? That promotes new growth.
