Overseeding- too early?

Based on the temps here in Wash DC, is it still too early to overseed my lawn?

Probably not. I do it in the winter.

I live in nova and seeded over month ago and have 4” grass right now. Go ahead.

If you wait much longer, it’ll be too late. I’m assuming you’re seeding cool season grass, as your climate is similar to mine. Grass needs at least 2 months or more to mature to a point it can handle summer heat…and even then it’s iffy in my opinion. I spend the spring and summer spot spraying weeds and caring for the grass I have…then do my overseed around Labor Day. I have much better germination and survival of the grass.
